So it seems that if my clutch is very cold - like 30* outside cold - then instead of having the normal ~1" of free play when I first press the clutch in, I can get up to half of the pedal travel. The only resistance feels like the spring. And I can feel when the clutch finally begins to move.
I can still engage/disengage everything just fine, but the first 10-50% I move the pedal does absolutely nothing.
This doesn't happen if the car is warmed up after 15 minutes of driving, and it also doesn't happen in warm weather. Does anyone else experience this? Is it because of the clutch moving because it is so cold maybe?
It really feels like the slave doesn't even touch the clutch fingers until 50% pedal sometimes. It seems like if I didn't have an adjustable master I wouldn't even be able to get into gear when the car was cold.

Well it's good to know I'm not the only one having this problem. It's really quite irritating. Sometimes when it's cold I'll grind gears which I blame partly on the cold and my failing 3-4 synchro, partly on being a noob, and partly on this issue.
