Would you use this slave cylinder?

I used the search button and found that most people on here say to get an F-Body slave from any parts store as most are made by the same company in Mexico. Well, I got an F-Body slave from Autozone (Duralast) and it says "made in China". Am I ok or should I bring it back? Thanks.

If it fits, use it.
I bought one from autozone so I have a lifetime warranty.

I just don't get some of the answers to this post.
Do you dislike this o.p. for some reason? The lifetime warranty means shit, because when that China part fails, who is going to pay for the aggravation and the labor?
Help me understand.

I've done at least 10 clutch swaps on my car and Everytime but one I have swapped out my slave with a autozone/advanced slave. Not one issue that's why I recommend it.

I did too. That lifetime warranty is awesome!!

I've had mine replaced twice under warranty already. Just bring it in and they swap it out

Help me understand.

You do realize that most of the aftermarket slave cylinders are made by the same factory that makes the OE slave cylinders? I have used the lifetime warranty for mine and they don't blink an eye. Go get your slave changed at a dealer and when it fails a year down the road do you think they're gonna cover changing it again? Not a chance. However most parts store have a labor claim option if you can prove that you paid to have it installed and it failed and had to have it replaced again.

You might be new so ill explain. When I bought my car in 06 I started modding. First single turbo now twins. Tex twin, spec, monster, street slayer to name a few. During the early years it was hard finding a clutch that would hold big power. To a certain extent it still is. Build your car so your making around 900 hp and get back to me.

Mine has failed twice in 60k miles and the only reason it failed the second time was because I was a moron and swapped the clutch out leaving in the same slave. Pulled everything out again and put in the new one under warranty.

That lifetime warranty has served its purpose once for me and will again in the future if need be.

Agreed, I don't think people are looking at the part close enough or they would realize your right. Packaging is usually different but close inspection and you'd realize its the same part.

From what I found on this site the F body slaves that are identical are made in Mexico, not China.

LOL

I replaced the OEM one like 4 months before the clutch swap, so I figured I would be fine. Was I ever wrong! Went to put the car in gear when everything was bolted up and sure enough, it wouldn't go in gear. Had to drop everything again and put in the new one LOL

The Autozone slave and the GM slave are the same exact part LOL

You are literally using the same part. It has the same serial number stamped on it as the GM one. There was a picture circulating around here showing it

I used a similar part (after searching the forum) and it has worked fine for me so far. It seems like the GM part and this are equally likely to last or fail based on what I've read on here.

I threw in an Autozone slave. Pulling the trans isn't a big deal for me. I've done it plenty of times, and the warranty means that when I need a new clutch, I just return that slave and get a brand new one from Autozone.

I am the one that showed the Mexico example. I used a Bendix slave and another brand which I got from Orielly's both were wrapped in original packaging from different companies while both had the same qa sticker signed by the same guy from the same plant in Mexico.

I do not see a dramatic difference between Mexican and Chinese slaves. Nor for tha matter does Gm who raised the price n their Meixican made F-body slaves once they figured out that. W on to the three times more xpensive GTO slave being :the same part with different fittings. Just don't use an African Slave.

I knew that picture was somewhere!!

I'll spend the $70 with a lifetime warranty over a GM one any day

Returned the Autozone slave and picked up one from Napa today just for piece of mind. The Napa slave is made at the same plant in Mexico as the OE are. Autozone and Napa were both around $70.

I don't think the Napa slave comes with a lifetime warranty but I don't know how to turn my own wrenches yet so hopefully it is better quality than the Chinese one. We will see.
