Hey everyone. Just bought my new to me GTO today. '06 brazen orange M6 with 48k on the clock. Stock other than a magnaflow catback(which is funny because that's the one I wanted but didn't want to spend that much money on).

Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. Live in the bothell area. Don't see many around which is cool and not so cool at the same time. Hopefully there's a meet up around these parts at some point. Would be cool to see others around here.

Thanks
Dick

If it's the one I am thinking about. Jim Wangers signed the passenger side visor. Does it still have that?

Ill check when I get home haha.

So go fast stuff on hold. Was gonna mix a little go fast with some suspension, but now full coilovers, sway, and a handful of bushings. Ittl be good for autocross in the spring. Maybe even a wheel/tire combo too.

I just keep telling myself that it's fast enough for now. Over and over an over..... Hoping I believe it haha

How do you like the K&N intake? Notice a difference?

#39 ·
To be honest I don't. However, two things attribute to this: 1) I hardly get on it at all. Most trips to work I don't go over 2-3k. 2) it's really dirty haha. Ill be cleaning the filter this weekend.

I can hear it and I know ittl likely help when i do more later on. But even if it does exactly 0, I'd still do it cause intake and exhaust go on almost every vehicle I own.

I should have the rest of the suspension here by Monday. Best Xmas ever. First married wedding, gto is a month old or so, many new suspension parts coming in by Xmas eve. I'm thrilled. Ill get the sway in tomorrow night or Saturday morning. And I'm waiting on a tool from my brother before I do the shifter. I really can't wait. Ittl be nice to see exactly what the sway does by its self and how much of a difference it makes on this car.

Thanks for looking.

Shifter is in. Pretty straightforward install. Best part, this previously had an aftermarket shifter so there were no hex head factory stuff in there. So a 13mm ratcheting wrench and bam, they were out. Gettin the bolts back in was a little more difficult as I had to do them from underneath, but as the directions said to do, just snug them with some red lock tite and I was good to go.

Put everything back in and man, it's so nice to have a shifter that works like it should. With the little rubber shift boot that comes with it, I hear virtually no more noise than with the stock shifter. Nice short crisp shifts, I'm a happy gto owner now.

Can't wait to get my coilovers bushings and swaybar installed next weekend. It's gonna be set up pretty great at that point.

Welcome to the Herd!
Suspension upgrades are a great 1st choice.

If I can get the car aligned in time I'll try and stop in. Got the coilovers and swaybar plus some bushings installed today. Need to adjust one corner tomorrow for height and then fix the front subframe. When I dropped it for the sway, we misaligned it by about a half inch and now it's to the driver side. Easy fix. Did not get the camber bushings installed in the rear yet nor did I align the cradle. Just didn't have the time and I'm tired so I'll just let the person doing the alignment finish that part. I don't drive this daily so there's no worries there.

Thanks for the welcomes guys. Glad to be here.

I've since adjusted the ride height in the pass front. It's almost dead on. I'm getting a good bit of scrub on turn in. Ittl go to the alignment shop this week hopefully. Next at the latest. But I have to say, I loove the way this thing drives now. And holy Moses I have good brakes! The bushings up front really made a difference in brake pedal feel. It's terrific.

looks good man!! you arent wasting any time modding yours!! lol i know the feeling! i ordered kooks headers and a bassani cat back before i even had my gto home :)

PS- i may be selling my thruxtons sometimes soon if your interested.

Thanks! Nope. Suspension is always the first thing to be done. And with autocross season coming up, I need to get an idea of how this thing handles.

I'm also gonna be setting the thing on scales and setting it up better there too. With the help of the same neighbor that is.

Yeah my driveway isn't level. Drops down from driver to passenger. It's pretty close to level. Maybe a half inch rake also. An once the cradle is aligned ittl look better out back.

Even with how wack the alignment is, I love the way it drives. I'm gonna take it on the freeway to dinner tonight, and then see how much I like it haha. I'm running 3 clicks up front and 5 in the rear.

So I realized my car has 6.6 emblems on the side in place of the 6.0 emblems.

I don't know the full history of this car, but wtf is that about? Stickers don't add displacement. I can't wait to get them, and the rest of the emblems off (minus th Pontiac emblems).

Just thought I'd share. I'm happy this car is in the hands of an enthusiast, not a joker. I'm seriously at a loss.

Oh well. Happy wednesday

Funny how in today's ricer world everyone automatically assumes because it has aftermarket badges the previous owner was a joker haha. Actually that car which use to be owned by me before I traded it in on a 07 Z06 did indeed have a 403, P&P LS3 heads, custom cam, kooks headers, 3.91 gears, monster clutch and a 200 shot of nitrous. I kicked the piss outta that car. Lucky for you the only thing left on it that had that abuse is the trans, the rest was removed before I traded it in. Car made 480/460 on motor and 660/620 on bottle ran low to mid 11's on motor and mid 10's on bottle. Could have had a 9 in it with an auto or a better driver. I really liked the car but the Z was much funner for power to weight. Unfortunately with a wedding coming up the Z has been replaced with a 11 CTS V which isn't much of a step down with the intake, pulley and bottle. Probably one of the only GTOs you will see with a sunroof
