Was going to go for the cheaper DSS but wanted the heavier duty ujoints. Plus marylandspeed still has their 5% off memorial sale so this shaft is less than the DSS 550hp shaft.

That's a bummer! I have my 1000hp 3.5in aluminum shaft with the heavy duty 1350 series u-joints, Sonnax forged chomoly yoke and billet rear flange for sale with only about 2k miles on it I could have sold ya for cheaper

The stock bolts on stock driveshaft didn't even have a nut on the bolt at all.
Stock photo with no nut.

Mine were the same way with my aluminum 1-piece. I ended up not using them because the stock driveshaft didn't come with any and it didn't seem like the nut was biting enough to do anything anyways. Just used locktight and torqued 'er down. Been fine.

Going to the DSS 900 2-piece. Prepping the car for a 1/2 mile event and some road course work. If you go back to the previous page you can see the pics of it.

The 1 piece works great. Definitely feels like it pulls much harder at low RPM. Makes the car feel more peppy for sure.

I rode today in the GTO of a friend who has the DSS aluminum one-piece, and drove it some also. man, it felt great, reacted quicker to throttle, and I simply could not feel any increased vibration whatsoever. really trying to figure this out before I make the purchase decision, either the cf one-piece or the 2-piece you got. right now it is looking like cf one-piece. both of them are works of art.

Must be that time of the year for driveshafts because I too am in the market for a CF one piece. Is Marylandspeed the best place at the moment to get one?

After work yesterday, I started modding the DuSPEED CAI I bought on here. It was modified to fit a Corvette and the round tubular area was significantly cut down. Using one of the flex tubes I got with it, I made a ring out of resin and shop rags (I didn't have much left in the way of fiberglass sheeting). Now that the ring is formed, I'll be able to use that as a mold for the DuSPEED

While waiting for the fiberglass to set, I dissembled the Brembo's to have them powdercoated. Not 100% sure on the color, but I've narrowed it down to 4 different prismatic colors. Calipers are reboxed and ready for the powdercoater.

Then I wanted to post a vid of the exhaust and cutouts (for the sound) and the car wouldn't start...so I started to figure that out...

Started clutch install. Got my transmission half way out. Started at the bell housing but decided it might be easier to remove trans from bell housing and then the bell housing. Will get it the rest of the way out this weekend.

I peeked in the garage to see if it was still there.

Indeed it is.

Creepin up on 12 weeks after my header order. In the mean time I'm tempted to just put it all back together so I can at least drive it.

That's how I did it. Extra steps but far less messing around trying to get to bolts you can't see/reach.
