C5 brake pads on stock brakes?

Just wanted to confirm... we can use C5 brake pads on stock calipers/rotors?

Shops don't always have a large selection listed for GTO but if they are the same as corvettes then its easier to shop for those.

Thanks.

Yes, all C5 pads (except for Z06 I believe) fit 04-06 calipers.

Are you saying they will or will not work on an 04?

I originally meant the front pads but to be clear for future searchers the rear pads are the same as C5 as well?

Yes, ALL base C5 front pads will fit 04-06 front calipers. Rear pads/calipers are different than corvettes. ALL GTO rear calipers from 04-06 are exactly the same and use the same pads. Only difference is that the 05-06 calipers are red.

This is well documented on here as well with a simple search:

I've been running AC Delco ceramic pads since new, ~100 miles. Part number is 88909667.

Never had a problem with them.

How are the ceramics dust-wise?

Virtually no dust for me. That's why I switched when the car was still new. I'm not hard on brakes though. Just checked them and they are about 1/2 pad left with 39K on them.

C5's all used the exact same brake set up, so there is no specific Z06 pad, and they technically would fit.

Rotors and calipers are the same base to Z06, but I know the pads are different on a Z06. Have you confirmed that a Z06 pad does indeed work? I've yet to find confirmation.

The pads are exactly the same for the C5, C5Z as well as the base C6. If you look up kits on Marylandspeed or KNS they don't differentiate between the C5 models, and many of them include the 04-06 GTO in the compatible models list.

http://marylandspeed.com/stoptech-st...10-p-5046.html

The "excluding Z06/Grand Sport" is in reference to the C6 Z06/GS.

I 99.99999999999% certain the only difference from the factory between the base and the Z06 was that the calipers were red and the Z06 came with a slightly more aggressive pad from the factory (still had the same pad dimensions though), but once you go to aftermarket pads there would be no difference between them anyway.
