My problem is I enjoy driving the RM so much the GTO doesn't come out of the garage much.
i have that exact same problem!!! many people think i'm nuts, but if they drove the RM they would understand
i have the L05 cuz mine's a 92, and i think leaf does too... so you may have the only LT1 RM on here as well.
i will get a wagon one day. i want to get either a hearse or a wagon and make it look like a hearse and make that my drag car. put a coffin in the back and all. i'll prolly go with a big block like some of the guys on here are suggesting for raceface's dad.
here's mine:

I've often wondered what a Vortec 8.1 liter big block would be like in a Roadmaster. You'd need a 4L80 tranny to hold the torque, but it would be sweet with 455 lb/ft stock and 290hp.
When I was in Indianapolis I had the wagon. Now I'm in Atlanta.
I've been looking for a nice 94/95 as a DD.
My first car was a 92 Limited Sedan. Puke Yellow! Color sucked, but what a nice car.
I wouldn't mind an L05 car as replacement parts are significantly cheaper than LT1 parts. Then again LT1 parts are getting cheap. Then again, buy a nice L05 car and do a big block swap. I've always wanted a big block roadmaster.
If you really think about it, a 92/93 BB Roadmaster would be reletively cheap. The early B-body bodies can be found for a few thousand dollars. The cost would be in the engine/tranny/rear-end.
But afterward, it would be a hell of a ride. Comfortible, safe and a real sleeper.
Wasn't the original SS Prototype really a 93 Caprice with a 502ci BB?

Coming from a GTO owner. I would never be pissed getting beat by a Roadmaster Estate wagon. I'd be laughing for hours.
yea i would be too. i love the look on peoples faces when my dad rols up next to them and revs his engin. the faces are pricless. thanks for the advice and compliments roadmaster.
I would love to get my hands on either a Roadmaster, Caprice, or Caddy Fleetwood for that matter from the early/mid 90's. Big comfortable rear drive cars with seats for 6 and a cave for a trunk. Gas mileage in the low to mid 20 on the highway and very comfortable for 4 on a long road trip. There are many sites for 454 and 502 conversions, but I think a well built small block makes a better cruiser, with big blocks reserved for all out bruisers. I even saw an article years ago where one guy cut an Imp SS down to two doors.

The Impala, Caprice and CadillacFleetwood tend to fetch pretty high prices in the used market. It is the Roadmaster that tends to fall on the low side price wise.
Which is strange, because it offers more creature comforts than the Impala/Caprice.
92-93 Cars were L05 V8 equiped
94-96 Cars were LT1 V8 powered
One of the best configurations to look for is a CadillacFleetwood with the towing package --- only B-body to get 3.42 gears from the factory with the LT1.

Yeah finding that "V4P" on the options list is a good thing For such a big car, they are quick. I'm looking at a '96, but I don't think it has V4P - if it does I'll be happy!

and the Caddy can tow the most. rated at 7,500 lbs tow capacity, whereas caprice/roadmaster are only 5,000 lbs.
and they get better gas mileage than you think... mine with the L05 and 3.08 gears gets 28-30 MPG hwy, and the LT1's usually get 25-27 MPG hwy. not too shabby for a big comfy boat that can tow it's ass off and give you all kinds of bells and whistles
