Carolina Goat Herd... Look here. Upcoming events and info

Hey y'all. I've been thinking for the past few weeks, that there are quite a few opportunities coming up for us to have some pretty awesome get-togethers, so I finally decided to sit down and kinda line them all up in one place.

__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ __
Sat January 31st... Shriner's HOTROD Expo in Greensboro

Could be a huge event from the sounds of it!!

Check here for official thread

http://www.ls1gto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=286825
__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ ___

FEB 6-9th***4th annual ALL-GTO RACE WEEKEND in Brandenton, Fla

This is one event, that if you can make it, you do NOT want to miss

Keep an eye on the sticky in the SE section for updates on the event, info on lodging, and updates on the CGH caravan headed south. Leaving Fri morning, Feb 6th, returning Mon, Feb 9th.

****Keep in mind... this caravan, (or most of us anyway) are going down REGARDLESS of whether or not the actual event is held. So if you can make it, it'll be one heck of an out-of-town get-together!

__________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ __
Also, for those interested, I thought I'd put together a list of area tracks and their test n tune nights:

Jefferson-Pageland reopens for test n tune on Sat, Feb 24th, noon-5pm.
1/8th mile track, about 45 minutes SE of Charlotte.
I'm not sure when they go back to Fri night test-n-tune yet. I consider this my 'home' track and you'll find me there just about every Fri night I'm not working.

www.JPDragway.com

Darlington Dragway re-opens for test-n-tune on Sunday, Feb 18th from noon-6pm. They return to their normal Wed night test-n-tune on Wed, March 7th.
1/4 mile strip, about 2 hours southeast of Charlotte, near Florence, SC, off of I-95

http://www.darlingtondragway.com/schedule.htm

Rockingham Dragway re-opened for Saturday street drags this past Sat, Feb 10th. They do have several more Sat test-n-tune days open but it's not every Sat, so you'll have to check their site. They return to their normal Fri night street drags and test-n-tune in April
1/4 mile strip, 1 hr, 15 minutes east of Charlotte, not far from Hwy 74

http://www.rockinghamdragway.com/schedule/

Fayetteville Motorsports Park
As far as I can tell, they never shut down. They have test-n-tune every Sunday, noon-5pm, weather permitting.
Website says 1/8th mile, but I think they've converted it into 1/4 mile.
About 2 1/2 hours east of Charlotte off of I-95

http://www.fayettevillemotorsportspark.com/

Mooresville Dragway
Sat, March 3rd and 10th, test n tune from noon-5pm. They return to their normal Thursday night test-n-tune March 29th
1/8th mile, one hour north of Charlotte off of I-77.

http://www.mooresvilledragway.com/schedule/default.htm

These are just a few of the tracks that I'm pretty familiar with. I'm going to see if DBluegoat will make this a sticky for me, so if you know of other Carolina strips, or if you wanna plan a get-together, let me know and I'll add them.

I am part of the CGH even though I haven't made it to a meet in a while, although I did see Lisa for about 10 minutes when she picked up my exhaust....

I will be away at a military leadership school March and April, but May and the months after I should be able to get out more often.

Good thread Lisa. Leave it to our fearless leader to organize our options.

And for those of you who may consider turning the steering wheel to have some fun-

http://www.carolinamotorsportspark.com/

I've done some laps here and it's a blast. A client of mine is working on having a private track day for mostly Porsches (Porsche dealer) but he was intrigued by having some of us there as well. Not sure when, but if there's interest I'll check into it.

Lisa, post up the info on the SC Power Tour. I see Year One at the Hot Rod Power Tour, but I've not heard they have a spin-off.

Hey Charles. I don't know that I would call it a 'spin-off'. It's in no way related to Year One. PowerDude might be able to answer this a little better, as he has been in contact via email with the guy organizing it.

Basically, it's set up just like Year One's power tour, but never leaves SC. It starts in Greer, SC on Thursday April 26th.

Thurs. April 26 Greer

I cut and copied this directly from the email flyer that PowerDude sent me. As you can see, there are no times for anything so I guess the best thing to do at this point is email the guy. I do plan on going... I'm just kind of waiting to see what my work schedule is for that weekend.

There is no sticker. The image was created by one of our founding members, Carl--aka: PowerDude aka: Mr Dudie aka: PowerPimp. LOL. Printing it off is the only way I'd know of to get it...

Hey Lisa - I just made my lodging arrangements for PITP. My grandson and I will be leaving Florida either Wednesday night the 16th or Thursday morning the 17th. Hope to be able to meet up with you and some of the CGH members on the way up. If that doesn't work out, see you at VMP.
