Custom Tuning Results for a 2006 GTO M6 - TB

Had a chance to do some Predator tuning with an 2006 Pontiac GTO M6

Modifications:
Ported TB
Predator Handheld

This is a little different than my usual postings as I am not using HPTuners but using the tuning capabilities of the Predator handheld.

RED Dyno - Predator 91 Octane Tune (Ported TB) 91 octane
GREEN Dyno - Predator Custom Dyno Modified Tune (Ported TB) 91 octane

18 Max RWTQ increase

13 Peak RWHP increase
12 Peak RWTQ increase

I am very interested to know what you did with the predator to tweak it for the ported TB. I have kooks LTs, catless mids, flowmaster catback, K&N CAI and the bobcat 455 predator tune. I will be getting a ported TB and ported intake soon and want to be able to tweak it on my predator. PM me or resopnd on here if it isnt too much trouble.

Looks pretty good... Did you add any timing or was it purely AFR changes that provided the increase.

Very interesting! Nice gains.
355 rwhp seems a bit optimistic for a stock LS2 but it's all relative I guess.

Since we stock LS2 Predator guys would like to try your custom tune, what were the tune mods you ended up with?

I have dynoed well over 80 GTO's and stock 2005-2006 LS2 GTOS make ~350 rwhp. For what is is worth this GTO did have a Ported TB as noted above.

The tune was an adjustment of the Injector slope, PE and timing.

Very nice gains Richard. I have always enjoyed seeing your tune results, and its nice to see a qualified, reputable tuner giving the Predator a shot.

Thanks
Mike

Send a message via AIM to slow
looks good, however I am curious, why would you adjust the injector slopes on a stock car?

LOL And you're not going to dole out any specifics on the +/- % adjustments you made, right? I didn't think so.

The reason for the adjustments to the injector slope on a stock car is they can still be off with mods. Moving the injector slope tells teh ECM the injectors are larger or smaller depending on which way you do. this help in getting the LTFT's as close to zero as possible then you adjust the PE to get the A/F to your requested range.

Nice gains, I wish when I bought the predator for my Formula that it was as powerful as it was when I got rid of the car. The intial once where limited in what you could do, I got mine reflashed and it was a night and day difference.

Guys, any changes he made on the dyno to dial in that car on that day will likely only apply to that specific car.
Each vehicle is different, and one bone stock car may want a slight negative change to the injector slope, where as another may want a positive change.
Use your datalogging functions to see where you're LTFTs are at and tune accordingly, or better yet do like Richard did and strap the car to a dyno with a wideband and tune for power.

Thanks
Mike

I have a dyno that I can use and undertand how to do the tuning,I was interested in finding out if I could sync the tune in with these mods using a predator:

CAI,shortys,hf catted mid pipes,ported ls2 intake,ptb,vig 3200 and pulley.

I have no real use for hp tuners as I'm not getting into the motor.
I just want a bolton car and I figured the predator would suffice.

Yes, the Predator will allow you to dial in the tune.
Once we add TCM support it will be even better.

Thanks
Mike
