cam scam ftl.

Well, was supposed to be trading my NX kit for a G5x3 cam from a guy on LS1tech. No markings on the cam, looked different than my stock cam when I got it out. Pulled an all nighter putting the damn thing in....its a stock 98-00 LS1 cam. Luckily I had my doubts and never sent the guy the nitrous kit. Turns out he pulled the same shit on 3 or 4 other people on Tech. Made up all kinds of BS excuses. He still claims he "never sent me a cam" because I told him that "I gave the kit to my mechanic"....even though I never said anything remotely close to that, especially since I don't HAVE a mechanic.....I do my own work.....

Anyways, on to the good news:

I ordered my Magic Stick v4 last night

LS2 timing chain, new pushrods, Powerbond 25% UDP, and PRC dual springs are already in, so this time around the cam swap should be easy. Gonna sound sweeeeeeet

Yeah...it always is in the back of my mind as to whether I am going ot get what I am paying for. Luckily everything but one item on this board has been on the up and up. The guy that sent me some junk brake parts did finally make good and returned my money but all in all I have bought a bunch of stuff off of this board and it has all been just as listed.

Scammers suck...did he get kicked from the ls1tech board?

LOL sorry but thats just funny, its some BS that the guy is scamming people, but you should always research any part numbers on the end of the cam before you put in it. Plus thats one of the biggest dangers in buying used parts.

Can we not share the user names/real names and locations of these guys? I know there may be some legal issues with accusing them of anything but I don't see how say Jo Blo sent me a stck 98 cam while telling me it was a GSX-5 would hurt. Also, make sure you fill out the seller review on the guy.

sorry to hear this, man. glad you didnt send him the goods.

i wonder if something like a 'parts arbitration' would work, where we have someone EVERYONE ships trade items to, who inspects them and makes sure things are good to go before sending them on to the new owners. this would prevent things like this from happening, imho.

That's the thing though...his feedback was good. When a couple people made negative trader threads, there were people that posted up that were suprised that had happened because they had dealt with him in the past and all was good. He pulled the scam BS on me and a few others within a few days, hoping that nobody would catch on until he had all his parts.

There were no numbers on the end of the cam. Normally the stock GM cams have the wierd printed thing on the end, this had nothing.

His info is posted on Tech in the "Negative Trader Feedback" section. His login over there is 00ls1.
