How to unlock a diablosport?

I bought a diablosport predator tuner off of ebay. The seller said it was unlock but when i plugged it into my GTO it said it was locked to another car or something. Anyone know how to unlock the tuner for my use? I contacted the seller and he said that he made sure it was unlock, and that it must have locked the vin or something. Can anyone help me?! Any help is appreciated!

Call the original vendor and tell them you had your main computer replaced by the factory, send them some bogus paper work indicting this and they'll walk you thru unlocking the procedure.

Sounds like the previous owner loaded the tune on his car and just sold the Predator. Free tune for him.

You could have Superman fly around the world against the rotation fast enough to reverse time, and buy a fully warrantied one from Maryland Speed.

return it back to the seller and file with ebay and report him as he provided you with a defective item. DO it
also check the update version ,

This is why we tell people to buy from authorized vendors. There are a lot of people out there who sell the things dirt cheap...but you have no clue what your getting...it could be old inventory, or in this case a incorrectly unlocked unit. I am up for a deal as much as the next guy..you just have to be careful who gets your $$$.

so it is something they can walk you thru without having to send the unit back to them? if this is the case then somebody should know how to do this i would think

well, they no longer will unlock any locked predator that was bought used... period... new rules...

also, it all depends on the model predator and the revision it is on... certain ones, certain revisions, can not be unlocked even if the original backup has been restored... it has to be sent back to them...

and others, can ONLY be unlocked by restoring the original backup to the vehicle....

so, people who buy used predators, then get them and find out they're still locked, are S.O.L....

Pretty much you got a defective/unusable item from the guy for however much you paid. The guy got to tune the car and get his money back.

I would first file a report with ebay and paypal to either replace the unit or get your money back. If the listing clearly said "unlocked" and you have a locked unit, then it's false advertising and you will easily win the dispute (whether you get a refund, or have the seller unlock the unit then send it back to you).

Then the crank spun hard and threw the pistons up to hard to cause a misfire

The original post was like a year ago..so I would imagine this guy is straight.

As for used Predators...never a good idea unless the person has a great reputation. I don't think a lot of the time it is intentional...some people I think honestly don't know what they are doing to properly unlock it.

Why don't you just insist that the liar who cheated you on the Predator give you your money back? Cheating Diablosport by sending them phony documents makes you no better than the schmuck who sold you an "unlocked" unit that wasn't.

This is why I bought my tuner in person. I was able to test it before buying it.

Hah, I just noticed that. The OP hasn't posted since Oct of 07. Maybe he's doing time for forging phony receipts.
