Bassani all the way! I had it on my '04, and when I got the '05 I just HAD to get it on that car as well. May not be what you're looking for volume-wise if you were to keep stock manifolds and cats. But if you plan on throwing some long tubes and/or high flow cats on your car then you won't regret the Bassani. I've heard it on two other GTO's running headers and it just sounds absolutely great. Not overly loud and obnoxious, but it's noticeable. And when you get on it the exhaust just screams.
Same quality product as Corsa and all... just not many people have heard of Bassani, resulting in nowhere near as many people owning it. But for those of us who took the chance and tried Bassani there has been no looking back!
Thanks for the videos Tosh. I'm just affraid the Bassani will be to high pitched. It does sound clean and I like that. I think the Corsa will be more throaty sounding. I'm sure I'll be happy with either one.

Here's the only decent video I have where you can hear the exhaust. Try to ignore the sounds of the Maggie and you can hear just how sweet this exhaust sounds.
By the way, my tips were sticking out a bit too far in this video. My headers had to be taken off the night before this video to do the stall converter and I didn't have a chance to get the tips back in place where I wanted them prior to the video.

Ahhh decisons....decisons
Don't think it'll be anywhere near high pitched. From what i've heard they sound pretty bassy. Alot of Cobra's run Bassani, and sound tits. Granted they have a different firing order causing them to sound totally different, but nonetheless badass......
Sounds bad ass. Did you have cats in that vid? X-pipe?
Thanks. And Yep, I had cats in that vid and still do. I'm running Stainless Works (1.75") headers, Random Technology cats that come with the catted version of the Stainless Works headers), and the Bassani cat-back. All Bassani cat-backs have a built-in X-pipe. The '04 version has an X-Pipe toward the front of the cat-back, and both pipes exit through one muffler on the left hand side of the car. The '05/'06 version has a muffler with an internal X-pipe built into it. That muffler has a flange that bolts directly to the flanges coming off the mid-pipes. And at the rear of each pipe is a resonator just about 12" or so before the tips.
Here's a picture of the un-assembled '05/'06 system:
Well it looks like I'm going with the Bassani. I like that not many people have it so its nice to try something different. I also think with the JBA high flow cats this should add a little more volume and bass. Thanks for all the help guys.
No prob man. Buy that thing, get it bolted it on, wear a SEG for a few days, come back here and tell us what you think of it, and proceed to wear a SEG everyday you drive the GTO hahaha. You'll be one of us few owners of a Bassani that will swear by it to anyone questioning the system... I'll almost guarantee it!
Thanks Mean.... my cars at the dealership getting repaired beacuase of my wreck. As soon as I get it back I'll be sure to post video of it...and yes your video is what sold me on it.
go with maryland speed, they gave me a great price on the bassani the kooks lt and the off road pipe! if i were you i would just get the kooks LT . you get what you pay for especially with headers.

x2 on the Maryland Speed, and x2 on the full length headers. Decide what you're looking to get from the exhaust and shoot Branden @ MD Speed a message. He'll get you taken care of and he has awesome prices. But if you want a little more power out of the deal definitely do some full length headers.
I got my Bassani from Maryland speed and order to doorstep took 49 hours....install about two hours by myself with rhino's and a jack...and a 15mm 3/8 drive sicket.

I'm going to talk to the dealership and tell them to go to Branden. I've heard great things about him and I know he's the guy to go to.
I would love to go with long tubes but the only reason I'm getting what I am is because of my wreck. I went up a turn lane median and managed to turn my mid pipes and the rest of the exhaust into a D shape. If I had maybe messed up the exhaust manifolds I might have been able to swing getting long tubes.
Im pretty happy that I"m getting all this for free. I priced out the entire OEM exhaust and it was right around $2500. So by getting the Jba high flow cats and the Bassani I save the insurance company some money and I'm happy too. So it's a win win situation
Greg yours is the one I listened to on YouTube. I like it but I'm afraid it will be too "raspy" for me. Do you think it sounds raspy through out all the rpm ranges. It sounds like the only rapsy time is down low at part throttle.
I guess that I don't consider it raspy....maybe it does sound a bit rapsy during start-up. The exhaust sounds a lot different once it heats up to normal operating temperature. Any raspyness is gone.
I haven't heard a Bassani in person, but I wouldn't doubt that both sound great and you'll be happy with either option.

My Corsa on my TA was very raspy...but still sounded very good. Remember the TA had a Y pipe and was not true duels...There is ZERO rasp with Bassani on the GTO...
Bassani, and catted Kooks from Branden@Maryland Speed here and loving it! I'm having a hard time getting a good vid of it, though. Too much background noise...

Yeah this thread is over a year old, but this is my video and the car has a Borla on it...not Corsa.
