Corsa or Bassani

Well after a lot of searching I've narrowed it down to these two. I've never heard either in person and have only heard sound clips of both. As everyone knows sound clips really don't do justice for how an exhast really sounds.

From what I've gathered everyone really likes Corsa both because of the build quality and the sound quality. Both systems seem to have beautiful tips and a great fit and finish. There's not too much information about the Bassani. It seems like there is only a hand full of them out there.

What I'm looking for is a clean sound which I believe both of them have. The Corsa certainly has more "volume" to it and I'm affraid the Bassani won't be loud enough. I will also be getting JBA high flow mid pipes so I think this should help the Bassani sound a little more aggressive. I like the "exotic" sound but I don't want it to be too exotic. The Corsa I think, correct me if i'm wrong, has a pissed off angry exotic sound while the Bassani is a more civilied tame exotic sound.
So if anyone has heard both in person that would be great to hear your opinion on both of them. Thanks for all the help guys.

If you want straight up race car loud, go corsa. I just about stalled the goat when I heard a GTO with corsa and kooks today

Only problem I see with the Corsa is you want 'clean sound', and the Corsa is as 'raspy' as it can get. Sounds awful from outside at normal throttle openings, but great at WOT. The other huge advantage is it gets you the highest volume without drone. Every system is a compromise, so choose your poison. I heard the Corsa in person doing drive-off tests with the owner, and even he was disappointed when I drove off in his car. For me, after losing quite a bit of money buying the wrong system, ended up with the Magnaflow, and am quite happy. Wish it was a bit louder outside, but it's just about perfect for me everywhere else; nothing's perfect. They look fantastic with the polished mufflers, the tips are the best I've seen, and the sound has the 'exotic' tone I wanted.
Best exterior sound was the Borla, but it droned like a MoFo. And the huge tips looked out of place, plus were cheaply made, which I didn't like at all.
Good luck.
JC

I thought of getting this system and met up with a forum member who lived close by who had just installed the bassani. we took turns reving my car (stock) and his car (stock except the bassani). my stock system was louder and had more rumble. the Bassani did sound nice, a quality sound, especially at high RPM.

Thanks JC I would also agree that the Corsa has a raspy sound. I did hear the Corsa on a CTS-V. I know it sounds different then what it would sound like on our GTO's but i definitely could hear the "raspy" sound you are talking about. The CTS-V did have long tubes and a cam so I know that changed the sound dramatically.

Phycho I like that you say it has a "unique" sound the only problem is you have long tubes and I don't. Did you have the Bassani on before the headers? Maybe with my JBA high flow cats it will help bring out a little more volume?

Thanks for the help so far guys lets keep the comments coming

Pappa I really don't think you'll pick up much with just cat-back system. My guess would be maybe around 5 rwhp. I got in a wreck with my car "not my fault" and it ruined my exhaust so thats why I'm getting this. The good news is that I get a free exhaust of my liking.

Well thats good I really want a "clean" sound and thats pretty much what you described yours to be. Right now I'm kinda leaning towards the Bassani now but I still want to hear what more people have to say.

You sure yours is STOCK? I just put mine on and it's at least 20% louder than my stock especially in the low rpm range....heck in every range. It's also deeper and louder at idle...sounds like a subwoofer....really good.

This is good to know. I'm glad to hear you say it sounds "deeper" at idle. My only real concern was that the Bassani would not be loud enough but I guess it is.

Thanks for the clip though! I may be changing, what I once thought was no question at all, from corsa to bassani...my car is my DD so I don't want it to be 'drive myself crazy loud' but to me there is nothing better than hearing the Goat...I'm going to be getting kooks 1 7/8 and catted-mids and CAI at the same time...I never really looked at bassani at all, but now that I'm hearing it I think it might have the sound that I'm looking more for

if your going to do the kooks long tube, go with 1 3/4 not 1 7/8th UNLESS you plan on duty heavy duty mods, like big cams or supercharger. otherwise you can actually lose power with the 1 7/8.

I think my Corsa sound clip is pretty accurate of what it sounds like at idle. After it warms up, it quiets down a bit.

Greg yours is the one I listened to on YouTube. I like it but I'm afraid it will be too "raspy" for me. Do you think it sounds raspy through out all the rpm ranges. It sounds like the only rapsy time is down low at part throttle.

Here's my car - kooks 1 7/8", catted mids, etc., I didn't lose power on this bassani..... it was mistaken (by a woman) for a ferrari as I drove by and eventually saw them at the next light... I love the bassani, but I didn't install it.

Best,

Quad

To the OP: I'm in the same boat. I have Magnaflows right now, but have it on stock 2.25" piping, no cats, and LT's. It's kind of stiffling my cam. W/the cutouts open it drops the AFR almost a full point. My tuner has Corsa on his T/A, love the sound but it is a bit loud. I'm gonna go w/the Bassani system myself. Love the way a x-pipe sounds w/the Bassani. Exotic and louder than Mangaflows. For me any ways I have the cutouts soo, I can be loud when I want. Just depends on how loud you wanna be I guess. Plus Corsa does make two diff. types, the touring and the sport. Touring being the quieter of the two.

I know Bassani is a good system. But I will stand behind the Corsa exhaust 100%. Please know, I have 0 backing from any exhaust company. I have yet to find a better sound and quality.

I also have yet to see/hear a Bassani in person.
