Speed INC Built 416 CI L92

New thread because the old one had an old title from when it was going to be a 402 and because I am whoring out Speed INC's work...they coordinated everything including the body work.

UPDATE: Got the dyno results 490rwhp and 472rwtq 100% Daily Driver... Work done by Speed INC of Chicago.

Some of the components:

L92 Block
4" Forged Compstar Crankshaft
Compstar Connecting Rods
Diamond Pistons
Clevite Bearings
JP Performance Double Row Timing Chain
SLP Heavy Duty Oil Pump
Manley 8.1 Pushrods
ETP 245 Heads (68cc chambers)
Comp Cam 235/240 .646/.609 112
Ported FAST 90mm Intake and 90mm TB
Kooks 1 7/8th LT Headers w/cats
3" Stainless Works Exhaust
4L65E LVL 5 FLT Transmission w/ Circle D triple disc torque converter
NX 150 N20 Plate Kit w/progressive controller and all the gadgets
Standalone Fuel Cell for N20 (race gas)
BMR HD Stubs and CV Axles
BMR Subframe Connectors
CF Banshee Hood
CF Rear Bumper Insert
JHP Lip Spoiler

Built for DD duty and to go to the track 1-2 times a month during drag season.

In the future I'm going to get a 2 piece HD Driveshaft and also probably get the rear wheel wells tubbed once I get back from Iraq (leave in February again).

I'm dying right now because the car is in Chicago and I am in Arizona, hoping to have it shipped to me by the end of the month.

Thanks, I can't wait for the numbers either. I'm not expecting super numbers because it has a Fuddle TC in it still which isn't the most efficient TC.

Why not a Vig? I have a Performabuilt but I am thinking maybe I will swap it out for a Vig instead, but I keep hearing about this Circle D verter. You got a link to the site or more info on it?

I read some reviews and saw this thread and was sold:
http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=890452

It is actually more expensive than a Vig, not that more $$$ means anything. I was just impressed with how it was custom built.

I told them about our site and they said they contacted DY for sponsorship.

I look forward to it and hanging out at some meets.

I'm trying to contact XMS and NicD because I'll need an N20 tune once I break in the new motor.

Got the dyno numbers. 490rwhp and 472rwtq going through a stalled A4 (fuddle) and catted LT Headers. With more miles on the block, gutted cats, and more efficient TC I will 100% be over 500rwhp through an A4. Throw in a slightly bigger cam (current one is a DD 23x/24x) and this will likely be a 520rwhp motor.

Very happy, Speed INC tells me it is unbelievably drive able which is what I wanted while trying to get close to 500rwhp.

Thanks, I am super close to having them gut the cats. I have a strong feeling that is where 10rwhp is hiding out.

I won't know until we get 1K miles on the motor first.

We didn't want to spray it on a dyno without breaking in the motor.

take the cats off , and use staight pipe

hollow cats leave a empty chamber , and isnt as good for exhaust flow

but yeah youll prob see atleast 10whp from getting rid of them at this level

Dude, were you by Speed Inc last Friday at around 4ish? I was sitting in my despoilered pulse red 04 when you drove by. If that was you, damn the car looked awesome! Love the lip spoiler.

Edit: Damn you're in AZ, but I still think it was your car lol.

Yes, it was likely my car if it was a blue 04 with lip spoiler, banshee hood, rear CF insert on the bumper.

How did it sound?

That was hurting his IAT? With the rear vents, I would have thought it would help a bit.. Hmm

I'm kidding, it isn't his actual hood.

I was joking that I stole it, and him not having a hood helped IAT's.

Looks like a killer build up with great numbers through an A4 and cats

I'm sure you'll get a huge SEG when you first drive it!!!

Enough to fund a very big party

cept Robby's party should be over the course of a much longer period of time.

Glad everything has gone to plan
