So, I finally got around to pulling apart the T/A last week and found some interesting things. A little backround on the car, I always thought that it smoked a little more than it should but wrote it off as the typical LS1 puff. This spring I installed a pair of PRC stage 2.5 5.3's along with an MS4, flycut the pistons, etc. After driving the car for a while, 2k miles it felt like power was falling off. I was at the dyno with another car and strapped mine down just to see what kind of power it was making. It went 410whp and 372wtrq on a mustang, knowing it was low I did a comp. test and found #7 down around 110psi (all others 225-230). After that I only drove the car a couple of times and it started smoking much worse. So here is what I found!

Other things to note, there was NO cylinder scuffing and the top of the piston looked perfect as did the top comp. ring. There is a lot of very fine aluminum in the pan so everything will be coming apart. I will be forging it up, cleaning up the heads and stepping up the cam a little in prep for next spring. Then will come the nitrous, lots of it!!

Hmmm... get the rim fixed and get them pc'ed satin blk. That would look nice. What size are they? 18x10 rear? 18x8.5 front?

Might just want the rears for DR's.

These do run crazy offsets(something like 52/54mm) def need spacers. Also backspacing is a bit off from ours (5x120.65). I have seen some guys put them on the GTO.

Mike,

Fronts : 17x9.5 Rears: 18x10.5

The rears are fine. It is just the one front 17 that might need some work.

I believe the rear offset is 58mm. I can double check if you like. A lot of guys do 315's on the rears.

Make me an offer if you are interested.

Decided that heads are more important, and after talking to Sean today, I will be getting a a/f gauge as well. Got to pick my mods wisely.

Hey, do any of you guys know of a place in the SW metro area that swaps out tires for a low price? I'm buying some used blizzak snow tires for my winter beater. I stopped by a Tires Plus today and they wanted $95 bucks to do this which I thought was completely ridiculous! Thanks!

$20-$25 a tire is about the going rate, unless you know someone who has their own mounting/computerized balance equipment...

Try 3-T Repair on 169 and 41. Tell them "Ditch" told you. Ask for Nick or Betty. They can quote you a price.

If you want really cheap take them to Walmart for a mount/dismount. Probably run you 20-25 for all 4.
