Anything over 150Psi should have sufficient CFM for most needs. In most cases, 150 psi is needed for air lifts and such. Your average air tool will work fine on anything 125 psi and up.
One thing to consider, is this a sealed unit or a splash oiler?
If it's a sealed unit (which the majority are), and you're running air tools that you're using constantly, the compressor itself is going to be running non-stop. These are the loud ones and if they're on, they'll be getting REALLY hot, which shortens their life significantly. This is where the splash oilers work better and what you'll find in most shops.
If you're just using this to take wheels on/off, and do minor work, a sealed unit where it can pump up and run off tank pressure for awhile, will be fine.
