Build diary, 5th times a charm

Allright finally throwing some attention at the GTO. Thanks to Bill and the great time I had during our trip I'm motivated to tear back into her vs burning her to the ground.

This will be my picture diary. I drop the engine off at the machine shop for a failure diagnosis today. I'll post pics of the progress from now till I have ignition.

I'll get her right or go to the poor house trying For those wondering I'm pretty sure once we get the crank out and magnafluxed we'll find our culprit. Time will tell.

When I took her to the track in January I had what I believe was a rod knocking in the middle of a 4th gear pull. I lifted and immediatly lost oil pressure (low oil pressure not 0).I drove it home approx 7 miles, opened up the oil filter and sure enough bearing material again. She sat that way till yesterday when I pulled the engine and started the journey yet again.

In all her dirty I don't give a smurf glory..

Roommate isn't much help. While Bill and I were cruising the eastern seaboard Eric was laying down his Indian. Road rash and a broken left arm. He's fine and next weekend we'll be tearing down the Indian

Did your Goat show the .......... Check Engine Oil display at that time, or during your drive home?

Hopefully your Goat will have a quick and healthy recovery.

Yea not very reassuring when I talked with the builder. It looks like I know more about the LS2 than he does Thanks Larry.

Yep, and the dashawk verified the pressure loss. I had the oil in pressure right after the run. Thanks John.

In the shop now...

We dropped the oil pan and took a look. Hard to see the bearing materials in the pic but it looks just like all the other times. No noticable blueing or other sign looking at the rods and crank. She comes apart today/tomorrow. I'll have more pics and hopefully something a little more solid by the end of the week. Keeping my fingers crossed we can find the root cause.
