Formal Apology to JETNITRO and the OTB folks

On The Border and Bruce put on an amazing show for all of us today. Bruce's months of hard work between gathering sponsors and setting up the entire event obviously never goes unappreciated. But what is a slap in the face is when the guy sets up one request "no burnouts/peeling out into traffic on Route 1" and a few people ruin it.

Don't get me wrong I enjoyed watching people light em up a bit but when too much money/not enough brains almost took out 3 cars it should have been the hint to cut things out.

On top of that the GTO who STRUCK ANOTHER CAR because he can't control his own...and nearly fled the scene...owes a huge apology to OTB, Bruce and every single one of us if we aren't allowed back to OTB.

We were kicked out from the Bandito's parking lot meets for wayyyy less than what went on here and it's a real shame if we get kicked out again and/or if Bruce decides not to do anymore meets (which no one can possibly blame him if so).

Everyone likes f'n around and showing off but there's no reason it couldn't have been done further down the ramp/across the road or somewhere that wouldn't completely endanger the lives of families traveling down Route 1.

Sorry to be preachy but it needed to be said.

Bruce/OTB thank you for an otherwise amazing meet.

-Ryan

I feel for Bruce. Myself, Guy, Danny, Bob, and Taco all discussed this at last weeks Central Jersey meet and Bruce EMPHATICALLY stated, NO BURNOUTS. What the HELL went wrong??!!

I sure hope we don't lose OTB. I really like that place. In my opinion, it's worth the hour long drive. Good eats and plain outright fun. And thanks to Eightysjay for inviting me back inside to have a beer and just hang out. If I hadn't gone inside to ang with everyone I'm SURE NBPD would be looking to write me up and other PBM goat owners for something we didn't do.

i could rant for pages and pages about how stupid it was, how it reflects poorly on the entire GONE crew (let alone bruce), and how dangerous our toys become when somebody doesn't know their own limits, but city goat summed it up pretty well.

At least we can be thankful that nobody was injured or hurt. A car wiping out in front of a minivan coming down route 1 at 60mph+ (as is VERY common on rt 1 in that area- I know) could have had TRAGIC results.

God let us off with a warning today.

The problem here is its a repeating scenario, we lost one venue because of inappropiate actions. Looks like the show might be banned from this place as well.

I hope not.

i just viewed the video of the burnouts, accident and near accident. I was there today and it seemed like a cool event. It was my first time and my wife and I left around 12:30 for some other plans.

sorry for the preach but the guys who did those burnouts and spins on a busy street like highway 1 should be shot and I feel bad for the people who put the event on as I hear they requested - no burnouts.

to beat the sh.. out of your car is childish (vette and cyclone grey gto) but to endanger the many people passing innocently down the highway is criminal. Do the people putting on the next meet need to ask for the local police to enforce what the they asked for? Seems so.

We won't be going again.

Bet if theres another event there the owner of the resturant will have heavy police presence like Hooters had at the last show because of the same stuff.

oh im not goin to stop comming to car shows because people cant control there cars. its just goin to suck big time at the end. every car show ive been to people get on it leaving but what happened to do DIDNT need to happen if people listed to the announcement of no burnouts leaving.

Bruce did an awesome job today. just sucks every where that he does a show and people mess around way tooo much he ends up getting asked to not come back. lets see Hooters, Bandito's, can we go for number 3? its just getting old getting kicked outta places.

if something is put in place to control actions like that right in front of the venue, and there are things that can be done, I will. I did meet some great people during our few hours there.

I will be a stand up guy and say that i am sorry for my burnout, but i didn't really see what happened with the other cars until i got on this site. I tried to keep my burnout small and not just blast out into traffic tires blazing and cause a traffic incident because i know its a busy road i also had a whole lane open to me with cars further back and didn't smoke up the entire highway or even drift into another lane. I also didn't know about the burnout rule being put into effect. if i had known that i would have never done that . So yes I was at fault and ask every one's forgiveness even though i know there will be those who will not accept it. i want to do the right thing. its not an excuse but i can say that my tires smoke up really fast and i didn't know how big or small my burnout was. I wanted a little smoke but until i saw the video i didn't know how much smoke there really was. I must say I'm Sorry and I will be removing myself from future events because i don't think i deserve to be there. I'm sorry to ALL involved.

good start. how about having only one exit, make everyone stop on their way out and have some one give a friendly reminder "no burnouts". i have a few other ideas.

wow I don't know what happened, because we left before it happened, but I hope everyone is ok and I hope that OTB allows us back. its a three hour dirve for me but I would go again. I think something should be done to avoid something like this happening again. having a police officer there at the end may be a good idea.

Shame this stuff had to happen. I heard the burnout deal so when I took off, I didn't bother spinning them and just ran up a couple gears. I've lived around Rt 1 all my life and it's not the safest of roads for shenanigans.

Sorry to everyone that attended. I could sit here all day and make excuses for what I did, but there is no excuse. I was stupid and I honestly apologize to everyone for my actions. Bruce and the Central NJ crew busted their ass for this show and every other show we have, and a few idiots (myself included) ruined it for everyone else. I am truly sorry.

I agree that Andrew's lil incident should of ended it. But there was a 75 person strong cheering section on the hill. That always invites disaster. If we are fortunate enough to have it there again, make everyone go out the far entrance avoid the spectator (and yes im guilty of spectating).

Bruce,i met you for the first time today, and im very sorry for the actions of a few that could affect so many.
Thanks for a great event.

I wasn't at the meet so I am only base my opinion on the video's posted but some of the stuff I saw was very immature and dangerous considering how busy that road looked. I am all for goofing off doing burnout's and other reckless things but not on a crowded road like that.

Just imagine would horrible publicly GONE would get if a huge accident happened because no one could see what was going on as a result of a burnout.

I know I wasn't there so maybe I'm out of line to speak about it, but I have been to a few meets before and I think those video's are a poor representation of what we are all about.

Glad to hear the rest of the event was a success, hopefully the next big meet people exercise some more caution. I wish I could have went but as fate has it I am going to NJ next weekend.
