04 GTO Good Custom Diablo Tune!!!!!!

I just got my Diablo predator today and installed a performance tune that a guy on another forum ( I won't name names) gave me. This guy has developed and worked on NASCAR Busch Series engines. He took six months of playing around with the Predator to get this tune:

WOT Fuel Mixture
2K-4K +8% Rich
4K-7K +5% Rich

WOT Spark Advance
2K-4K +2% Advance in Winter (Use 1% in Summer)
4K-7K +6% Timing

Idle
Drive:w/o AC +50
Drive: w/AC =50
Park/Neutral: w/AC +100
Park/Neutral: w/o AC +100

Fan On/Off Temps for 160/180 Thermostat
Fan 1 OFF 191.x
Fan 1 ON 201.x
Fan 2 OFF 202.x
Fan 2 ON 212.x

Fuel Injector Slope
minus(-) 7

ALL Torque Settings Management
OFF

COT Temperature
585*C

*****This is all you need for an M6 (set rev settings to your comfort level)*

For A4 GTO's these are the shift settings:

Shift Time
1-2 -6%
2-3 -8%
3-4 -10%

WOT Up Shift MPH
1-2 38MPH
2-3 75MPH
3-4 123MPH

WOT Down Shift MPH
1-2 33MPH
2-3 74MPH
3-4 118MPH

WOT Up Shift RPM
1-2 5900
2-3 5900
3-4 5900

WOT Shift Pressure
1-2 +4% Firm
2-3 +6% Firm
3-4 +8% Firm

PART Throttle Shift Pressure
1-2 +6% Firm
2-3 +8% Firm
3-4 +10% Firm

Just wanted to share this with all you Predator program owners. This is one BAD ASS tune. I haven't had it dyno tested, so I cannot make definitive statements about HP and Torque, but it is a monster improvement from the stock settings. I only have a K&N CAI on my GTO along with this tune and the GOAT is now officially One Bad GOAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My stock exhaust has a much more muscular tone and the LS1 is alive!!!!!!!!!! She really SHITS AND GETS NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This guy knew what he was doing!!! Let me know what ya'll think of the tune and post your replies. Good Luck!!

I FOUND THIS WHILE BACK ON A LS1 FORUM SO THE WRITE UP ABOVE IS NOT FROM MY MOUTH BUT THAT OF THE ORIGINAL THREAD POSTER...... THIS IS A REALLY REALLY GOOD TUNE, I NEVER GOT AROUND TO USING IT PERSONALLY ON MY OWN GTO FOR THE REASON I DON'T HAVE A PREDITOR AT THIS MOMENT. BUT IVE TOLD A FEW BUDDIES AND A COUPLE LS1GTO MEMBERS AND GOT RANTED WITH AWESOME RESULTS....... IVE GOT A COUPLE BUDDIES WHO OWN 04'S AND THEY USED THIS TUNE.... "BIG MISTAKE ON MY PART CUZ THEY BEAT MY A$$ PRETTY GOOD NOW BONE STOCK W/A4.... AND W/M6 ITS A WORSE BEAT DOWN LOL AND I GOT A CAI AND EXHAUST NOT MUCH BUT STILL...... SO IF YOU GUYS DECIDE TO USE THIS TUNE HIT ME UP ON A PM AND LET ME KNOW YOUR RESULTS AS WELL.... BUT JUST A FYI THIS WAS CREATED FOR THE 04 GTO SO IM NOT SURE IF IT WILL WORK FOR YOU 05/06 GUYS BUT GIVE IT A TRY, RESULTS MAY NEED MINOR TWEAKING TO GET THE FULL ADVANTAGE!!!! BUT, IF IT DOES WORK FOR THE LS2 ALSO SHOOT ME A PM AND TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK..... THANKS GUY'S AND GOOD LUCK!!!! PHIL

That thread originated from here and went there a long time ago. A member named batboy on here asked for help with his tune and by the time I disected all of the info/mis info, my head was spinning. Enjoy the tune.

anyone know how this tune is MPG wise?? i should be getting my Predator at the beginning of next week. I was also wondering if this would be a good tune to start with, or if i should just try one of the pre-installed performance tunes first? thanks

Edit: Also, my car is stock except for Muff delete and h-pipe, would any tweaking of this tune help me? If so, what would I want to change?

there are other posts around where people had issues with that tune as well, not just GeeTeeGo.... every car is different, no matter if it's the same model with the same engine/tranny... tune settings for one person won't necessarily work for everyone else... you're better off getting the tune dialed in for YOUR car, not for someone elses...

get the predator, install the diablo tune (if you're using 93 octane gas), or the 91 octane tune... drive for a couple days... then do a data log to see where your fuel trims are at, and make the proper injector slope adjustment... that's first on the list of to-do's...

here's info on logging/adjusting:

i bought a 04 a4 goat about a moth ago and was wanting to buy a diablo tuner but as i was reading this thread i noticed that all the shift points on here matched mine. when i bought the car there was nothing behind the cats (open exaust). i also drove another one when looking at this car and this one seemed to be faster. was that because of the open exaust or could this car already be tuned and how do i tell take in to gm

I dont see these options anywhere...

hook the predator up to your car... select the same tune you installed before, then choose MODIFY TUNE...

scroll down the list to Fuel Injectors - select that, then you will see Injector Slope.. select that and make your adjustment... make sure you press the center button to save the change...

then press ESC to get back out to the parameter listing menu...

then look for COT in the list, select that and make your change...

esc back out to the parameter listing, and look for Torque Management.. select that and go in there to make changes for that...

Over the last week I have added a handfull of bolt-ons to my stock 04. I added flowmaster catback, k&n CAI, SLP mass air sensor, 160 degree tstat, msd plug wires, and fresh plugs. Lastly I ran this tuning a program and what a difference it made. The reaction from idle on up is all together better. I can't wait to datalog it and do some fine tuning in the near future. Thanks posting this.

I had that tune on my 04 GTO when I had a predator... lost 15 rwhp on the dyno compared to the stock tune. You are just dumping too much fuel in with it. The shift points did help though.

The predator performance tune added 2 rwhp over stock.

Don't believe that NASCAR bullshit - it was obviously a lie considering stock performed better lol

yeah... can't run someone else's tune settings in YOUR car... every single car runs differently...

you need to tweak the tune settings for YOUR car, not someone elses...

back when I had my predator tune, the stock was sooo rich... I could not imagine it needing that much fuel everywhere... then I did exhaust and needed to add a little more fuel, but still not near as much as it had stock
