That's going to be at least 1 inch taller then what you have now. You may want to try the new MT DR in 265/40-18. About 1/2 taller then what you have and my buddy says they hook very well!

im good on 265s, i should be ok since i have drag bags in mine so i can run like 15 psi in the bags and fit the 275 M&H in em. plus i hear nothing but good things from those tires.

plus i like trying something new
O.k. but the 27 inch tire will increase you 60ft and may slow your E.T. down just a bit.
well im looking at the daily driven aspect of these tires
I hope you have good insurance since those M&H will also suck in the rain. If they hook as good as M/T, chances are they will do poorly in the wet weather.
My advice; just buy another pair of rims.

i need a dr for my DD since it gets wild under a good load. i just hope they dont wear as quick as the mt's
I've drove around on my 27/10.5 ET Street bias ply before with no abs issues, but the 275/45/18 is a 27.75" tall tire which may have issues. As for the track, you should have any problems, but for DD or street driving you might. JMO
my 275/60/15's MT dr's are 28" tall and cause the abs light to set from the tire speed difference , once the let sets the brakes are fine , but no abs which is fine with me
The M&H's hook great at the track and I have them on a long bed truck, so they should hook even better on something that has a little weight on the rearend. I have yet to drive in the rain with them, but they do handle good on the street.

I ran the M/T 265/40/18 all racing season. They work good at the track. I did 60' 1.69 on two different occasions, on the street not so much. I have been considering going to the 275/40/17 M/T to try and get some more stick on the street, my converter just renders the car useless, unless it is a well prepped track.
Anyone have success with the 17" on the street?

I can't say anything for the MT 17's on the street except for don't drive them in the rain, but I cut a 1.59 60ft with the 17's at the track. I am probably going to get some used camaro rims and try out the 16's next season.
what do u guys think of the bf goodrich 275/35/18 drag radial? i really havent gotten a chance to use mine at the track. any good things about these at the track? lets hear some 60 ft stories from these.

no problem here. i don't dd or drive if there's a chance for rain. i did have to use spacers and longer studs because i have widened stock 17s.

My very first drag radials were 17" BFGs and I didn't like them. I couldn't get them to hook worth a crap. My best luck has been with MTs
Are you going to use the stock 17x8 rim for the M&H?
Have you put them on your Goat yet?
If so, any fitness issues?
What is the M&H tire weight?
Are you going with the M&H (28") due to gear ratio (3.91)?
Are you running skinnies up front, and if so, what rim and tire?
Reason for asking..... have 2 sets of MT (275x40 DR & 26x11.50 Bias-Ply Ht 26.5"). I use M&H Bias-Ply Front Runners (4.5x26.0) on the 17x4 spare rim with either MT and have not had a problem. Currently using the MT 26x11.50..... but considering going to a 28" with the 3.91 gear.
Considered going to 15" rims with 28" Ht tire, but would consider the M&H 28" to save the cost of switching everything over to 15" set-up.

They are going on stock 17's because I have them and I am cheap.
I haven't even mounted them on the rims yet to see if they will fit, but I have drag bags and am confident they will clear. I don't think it is how tall but more of how wide or lack of width in this case. When these cars squat, the top of the tire moves in quite a bit. These being only 9" wide on the stock rim should give them plenty of room (I hope).
My car was supercharged, M6 with 3.91's and I was having to hold 3rd gear going thru the traps or try to grab 4th real quick. It is now an A4 with 3.46's and is getting turbo'd. It should help build and maintain boost with the taller tire.
I have the same M/H front runners mounted on stock spares also!!! My rims were smoothed and powder coated dark metallic grey. I also haven't had any issues running them with MT ET Street Radials out back.
Edit: I don't know the tire weight, I'll check tonight.
