Each of these 30 vehicles had a defect that permitted carbon monoxide to pass into the vehicle. The types of defects included:

• Defective muffler
• Leaky tail-pipe
• Blow-by
• Leaky manifold pipe gasket
• Leaky manifold-engine connection
• Leaky exhaust pipe

The most common of these defects were defective mufflers and tailpipes, with 19 and 17 cases respectively.

any study done by the govt should be taken with a grain of salt.

any exposure to any chemical with un unnaturally high concentration will have adversse effects on the individuals exposed. every 2 days in new york city increases your likelyhood of cancer by 1 in 1000000 over the course of your lifetime (EPA statistics)... when you go to the dragstrip you are exposing yourself to concentrated levels of chemicals known to be carcinogens... but everything has a risk associated with it! this is why we all have our own houses and our own cars to control. btw, ~100 8oz steaks increases your likelyhood of cancer by 1 in 1000000 also...

P.S. just remember, you have a 100% chance of dying in your lifetime

I hear you point, and sometimes you have to go to the extreme to get some people to understand things... but i don't think there have been any studies done on this type of exhaust mod.

The spintechs will probably be quieter than the washer mod until you get headers.

stage 2 is 2 washers.
stage 3 is more rare, usually big spenders do it. 3 washers!

While I dont think it sounds awful or anything, I just dont think I could personally do that to my car. That, and I love my exhaust setup anyway.

The DMH cutouts have like shrouds..that direct the exhaust gas down. It's not an all around leak.

Of course, maybe with a good tune not so much, but I don't think the fumes will get in anyway.

Now, a sealed gas can in the trunk you can definitely smell even though you can't smell the gas from the tank in the trunk.

Your point is not falling on deaf ears, but you are going a little extreme with the damaging unborn children and getting cancer.

Better not get catless mids!

Get your mullet on Nancy.

FWIW, once I put on my catless pacesetters, my washer mod sounded like crap. I bolted it back up and ran it that way for a couple of weeks. I then came across a FREE 05 catback. I cut open the mufflers, removed the packing, cut two holes in the internal baffles, and welded it all back up. They sound good but still a little raspy. It's not too loud but he dog has some bark. It's a good time

Stack washers at the flange bolts that hold the mufflers on. It makes a gap thus being louder.

From time to time i search for washer mod threads just for the purpose of watching all the people on their soapboxes try and make the "washer mod" folks look dumb.

Some of you people kill me with just how highly they think of their opinions. Get a car, pay for your car, do whatever you want to do with your car. People have been doing things like this for at least 50 years.

Amen brother. The elitist attitude on this site is sickening sometimes.

I had it done to my WS6, sounded great.
