I found this link to a video, buried at about page 10 of that thread, oddly amusing and somewhat unsettling.

"Nemesis!", yeah, that one's fairly famous

I like watching spinoff videos and working out "what did he do wrong".
That guy was taking a bad line everywhere (new to the track) and
in that bad-line corner he tightened it up mid-turn. I think.

A lot of the thunderhill spinoffs are due to people going over the
various crests while maintaining constant-speed, constant-radius
turns. The car lifts up and away she goes.

Unsettling, why? The guy was by himself and probably bored of chasing the rustang. It's no more unsettling than seeing a grown man singing in his car at a red light.

And the video was boring, what was it running at 5fps?

Like he said - unsettling.

The link to the Bimmer thread is cool. I will try to make my way through all the pages and pages. Some of the stories are really entertaining.

I could not tell by looking at the video if he was on his brakes or not in the turn. I was thinking either trailbraking or maybe lifting in the turn induced a bit of happy tail. Lord knows I've nearly lost it one or twice when I got antsy in a turn and lifted off the throttle.

Good heavens, I thought that only happened in Ridge Racer.

That looked kinda deliberate, given the bump two seconds earlier.

Damn! That actually looks real.
How the hell do you get a Miata to just jump straight up about 2' ?!?!!!

And yes those boys hit each on purpose, they do it all the time. Many Spec Miata racers a certified nuts.
