L92 Heads/Info and Owners In Here

Always a lot of talk so I have comprised a list of all the owners with L92 heads and a stock bottom end. I have also done my best to obtain cam specs and track times.

See the redone list below in post #7.

If I missed anyone please let me know as well as if I stated something incorrectly.

Also if any of you can fill in the places where there are ??? that would be great.

If you live in Atlanta and need wheels, tires, alignment, paint, or performance goodies feel free to PM me.

Good idea, thanks for going to all that effort. Maybe make the seperation bold for ease of reading, like this...

transformer goat//432/391//A4//230/240 114//12.9@110

ps New numbers and times in the spring

Official L92/L76 and LS3 Heads/Intake FAQ and Information

- L92/L76 and LS3 FAQ.

Q. What are the differences between L92/LS3 and LS2 style heads?
A. The L92/LS3 heads have larger relocated valves, larger rectangular intake ports (as opposed to the LS2's cathedral port), as well as increased intake and exhaust flow.

Q. What are the differences between L92 and LS3 heads?
A. LS3 heads ship with lighter valves and better valvesprings than standard L92 heads. Everything else is identical.

Q. What headgaskets can I use with L92/LS3 heads?
A. You CAN NOT use LS2 headgakets. You need a 4.060 bore headgasket which is OEM equipment on all vehicles with L92 heads or LS3 heads (see below). Many aftermarket manufacturers offer 4.060 head gaskets in different thicknesses to raise or lower compression.

Q. What are the differences between L76 and LS3 intake?
A. L92 and LS3 intake manifolds share the same castings and can be used interchangeably. Although the LS3 also has an external "beauty" cover, the most noteable difference in the manifolds themselves is the MAP sensor.

The L76 manifold uses an LS2 MAP sensor with a clip style mount.
The LS3 manifold uses a slightly larger MAP sensor (p/n: 88988583) that is bolted down.

Q. Where can I find L92/L76 or LS3 heads and intake?
A. The L92 Heads are OEM equipment on

- 2007+ Cadillac Escalade
- 2008+ Chevrolet Tahoe
- 2007+ GMC Yukon Denali/Denali XL
- 2007+ GMC Sierra Denali
- 2008+ Hummer H2
- 2009+ Chevrolet Silverado 1500
- 2008-2009 Pontiac G8 GT

The L76 Intake is OEM equipment on

- 2008-2009 Pontiac G8 GT

The LS3 Heads & Intake are OEM equipment on

- 2008-present Chevrolet Corvette
- 2009 Pontiac G8 GXP
- 2010 Chevrolet Camaro

Q. Which engines will the L92/L76 or LS3 Heads/Intake fit?
A. Any GM GEN-IV engine with a 4.000 bore or larger.

Q. With the L92/L76 or LS3 what are my options for...

- Rockers
- Springs
- Fuel Rails
- Injectors

Q. What do I need for a L92/L76 or LS3 swap on my car?

- L92/L76 and LS3 Tips and Information.

- Compression Ratio
- Flycutting

- Dyno Numbers of L92/L76 and LS3 Heads/Intake GTO's with stock displacement.

These cars are all 364 CID, and dyno numbers should be SAE to keep with the standard.

I have ordered them decending from the highest horsepower. If your information below needs updated, or you would like to be added to the list - please PM me or post up.

Thanks to PBANDPKGTO for gathering all the data.

If you want to PM me the porting info, I'll add it to the list.

It was a mixture of Excel, and the CODE tag on the forum here.

Code respects tabs, this WYSIWYG editor does not.

Looking at this list has just made me want to port a few things and get a little more agressive on the tune and make a run for the top of the list (dyno wise). haha.

Beach Goats time

12.49, 113mph

Also for those listed that have those "secret squirrel" cam specs I really wish you would "disclose" them. This thread is more of an informative thread for those thinking about doing the swap.

Along those lines, specs of a cam are one thing, but there is a lot more that just lift, duration, and lsa specs that make a cam work-so don't feel like you are divulging "priveledged" info.

I was @ 429/391 on my first try at tuning and full torque management. M6 little Katech stage II 276/576 116lsa. But went back to LS2 heads for Maggie. Heads milled for stock compression and little porting. That reminds me I still need to sell that kit.

You need a couple more colums for Self Installed and Self Tuned so we know who the REAL studs are.

And I think my numbers should be 438/405.

Just found your thread thank you for getting my info on there. As for post 17 I did all the install with the help of the other GTO's in Tulsa, we will get together to install anything. Had the intake ported and polished @ LS2 PortWorks. Guess I will take it back to the turner to try to squeez out another 2 rwhp to get to the top. Track time are in my sig.

We should say stock cubes, I doubt I gained jack from the bottom end and my CR is lower then stock with the dish.

BTW, I'd still be stock bottom end if someone hadn't gotten to happy with the flycutting tool.
