1st half-estimated time 1 hour
Drive about a mile or 2 down the road then turn on to farm roads
The first half will be mostly straightways with few curves and scenic Texas Country(oxymoran?)
Then we pull in and stop in a flat field. I can not stress enough how flat the field is- A Dodge Viper 650R was
able to drive in this field with no issues(Is pending depending on how many cars show)
Drive a few more miles and we will come to a Cheveron
2nd half-estimated time 50 minutes to 1 hour
Leave Chevron
Nice long straightway for a mile or 2
Turn on to more farm roads
Lots of twisties and curves-will really test one's suspension!
Pop out at 75

We will be raffleing off a $50 best buy giftcard and we will have a 50/50 pot as well. Raffle tickets for the BB gift card will be
sold for 50 cents a piece. We will also be giving away 1 free raffle ticket to those who bring items such as size 4 diapers(50 pack).
For every additional 10+ diapers on top of the 50 you bring, you will get an extra raffle ticket for free. Raffle tickets can be
purchased at the start of the cruise and stopping points. 50/50 pot tickets can be purchased for $1 a piece or $15 for 20 tickets. The drawings will be held at Big Tony's.
As always we will accept cash donations that will be used for the families.
Larry Maupin will be offering his services as well. There will be a sign up sheet at the Drivers meeting if you want a quick photo shoot, it will run $10 to download the picture off his site or you can pay $15 and have a CD shipped to you. You need to have cash in hand at the time of the shoot.
Last year was the first year. The CRL has grown alot since then and this year should be better. That is one of the reasons I am posting here is to get some photo worthy vehicles out there.
Thought so but I wanted to ask anyway. Haven't I seen you at the Thursday night McKinney Roadhouse meet?
It was probably me lol...
I used to have a TBSS and frequented the roadhouse meet for some mexico action consistently for a while...
I will be watching this thread but if there is going to be too many cars, I am out. I went on a cruise two weekends ago through the texas backcountry with about 15 cars. 6-7 lotus's, 4 Porsche's, a couple ferraris and a corvette. Well a lonesome 350z decided to tag along and kept pushing his car harder and harder to try and keep up with the Porsche GT-2 in front of him, he dipped off the road, caught an edge and flipped his car. He and his girlfriend were OK but its the principal. We met in the parking lot expecting 7-8 cars to show up. With a few others showing up(350z included) it made the cruise get very complicated and unorganized. Granted we all had two-way radios to communicate off of, so it made it easier to keep pace with one another but in my personal opinion, if the cruise gets too large, someone is bound to get out of hand.
i like this idea. tons of gtos showin up in force! certaintly interesting. eye got my eye on this(anyone anyone, huh?!?).
what is the charity for? kids/people that wear size 4 diapers? lol, maybe i missed where it said what charity.
This is for Special Needs of Dallas, as flavor mentioned. We're an organization that raises items for families in DFW with handicapped children. At the moment, one of the main families we're working with has a little girl that is in serious need of diapers so that's what we're putting our effort into raising. It's typically donations of diapers/wipes/toys/etc; we really aren't into accepting cash. We feel as though we can do more good in this world by purchasing/collecting items that we really know these families need to survive.
If you have any other questions, feel free to post 'em up. I'll do my best to answer them all.
I'll try and make it! Sounds like a good time, and charity just makes it better!
I hope to see you out there.
We also have a weekly meet in Garland on I-30 & Beltline at Taco Casa on Thursday evenings starting at 8pm. For those of you on the better side of DFW (Tarrant County), we're meeting up at the IHOP on I-30 and Eastchase Pkwy in Arlington on Saturday February 21st at 8pm. You're all welcome to stop by and meet some of the CRL folks if you want to get acquainted before the cruise.
They're all fairly small get-togethers. Just a bunch of friends hanging out, talking about cars and whatnot.
I'll let you know if i can schedule it in, far enough out should be able to make it work!!! Gotta good friend with a 5.0 LX that can bring up the rear!!!!!!!!!

I doubt the 5.0 will be dragging the tail. My 525i wagon might give it a (slow) run for its money...
