What kind of shotgun is this?

http://www.g-man-weaponry.com/images...s/SHOTGUNS.JPG

I'm looking for a short shotgun like that, I don't necessarily need to know that exact model or brand.

The reason I want one is for home defense and not to go to the range and shoot. So a Mossberg 500, you say?

Mossberg 500, You can't have one that short in jersey though. You can get a regular one though.

Really, Why can't I have one in Jersey? Simply because of the length and I could hide it in my coat and blow some unsuspecting persons head off before they know it? Not that I would ever do that, but you can do that with anything. Dumb laws! I'll just buy one when I move to PA after college, unless I can't have one in PA either?!

sawed off shotguns have been illegal for some time now. About the closest thing to that is a police edition tactical shotgun. They are illegal because of the size you are correct. If you think about it take a regular shotgun saw off the 14" of barrel down to a size shown in the picture and your left with a very very deadly weapon that could be hidden under a jacket or such rather easily.

It is a highly illegal sawed off mossberg model 500 with a pistol grip. If you use this in self defense you will be charged for felony weapons charges and maybe even use of excessive force, even if you are in the right.

Eiter Get The Above Referenced Mossberg 500 Or A Remington 870 In The Tactical Model.

You Can Add A Pistol Grip To Either Which Will Bring You Down To The Legal Limit, Be Aware Though That It Will Not Be A Very Fun Gun To Shot Once It Is That Short.

Mike I Am Sorry But There Is No Way That The Shotgun In That Pic Is A 18" Barrell And 26" Overall Legal Length.

That Thing Is As Short As It Gets And Is More Than Likely No Longer Than 18" Overall.

My Remington 870 Tactical Is A 18.5" Barrell And It Is A Heck Of Alot Longer Than The One The Op Posted.

You're right. Upon second glance it is a tad shorter than my old "Cruiser." six shot.
I really want a Saiga 12 with a pistol grip.

Yeah, yeah not the same gun but you get the idea...

Shouldn't shoot a pistol grip shotgun if you're a little person. Lesson learned.

for home defense, the stock would come in very handy for that extra ass-whooping when your out of shells or the perp gets sassy while bleeding on the floor. pistol grip would suck for you. i have a mossy 590 and am considered picking up a stoeger coach gun for self defense:

and they cheap!

It would deemed excessive force even if they broke into my house??!? yeah, I guess it would suck to shoot since I'm not a big guy, but I'm no midget. LOL I could get into one of those Remington dynamic entry guns someone was talking about.

I've held a serbu (both the remmy and mossberg versions), and while the folding handle is sweet, I'de rather have this (which was only $100 more then the serbu) for the while kit:

Winchester 1300 Defender is 18.25 and used to be sold at Walmart for $189 back in 94

It holds 7 + 1 .

Now that is home defense.

$5 tax stamp for manufactured short barrel shotgun.
$200 tax stamp for a sawed off shot gun.

Of course, in a state that permits such things.

New plan: Buy one with some kind of stock whether it folds or not and something that isn't considered "sawed off."

don't you have to actually have a class 2 license to do the sawing yourself? where as the 5 bucks is just for the AOW stamp? with either of them you introduce the opportunity for big bro to inspect without prior notice 24/7. all in all it seems a little silly to have to jump through all those hoops for a freaking scatter gun. naive as it seems, if they spent a smidge of that effort going after the "REAL" bad guys....sorry, i digress.

shot one of these one handed before (on a bet) did not kick that bad. was using game loads at the time. I am sure 00 buck might give it a bit more kick though.

The Saiga 12 is badass. I just got an email from the dealer I bought my 357 Glock from and they have a few in stock.
