* * * Congrats BLUEBIRD05GTO…Another Cartek GTO in the 10s * * *
Bob (BLUEBIRD05GTO), congratulations on your new PB of 10.960 @ 124.43MPH!!! Almost a 10.95!!! And check out that stout MPH!
Your bolt-on/nitrous setup is really coming together. Once we get the traction issues straightened out I am positive you will be succeeding your previous times. Going 10s on a budget build is simply amazing. Just remember not to long ago you were running 12s…so how does it feel?
I will be posting up the videos shortly, please post up the time slips when you get a chance.
Congrats again Bob on your new PB and we are happy to see you are having fun.
the nitrous will overcome the weather, and if atco doesnt cut it he can go to cecil.
Exactly.
Nitrous doesn't really care all that much about air temps and DA.
As for any traction advantage that Atco may provide, well, his car cut an even better sixty foot at Englishtown this past Saturday than it did yesterday at Atco. This car would still be FAST at any track.
nice times...but I'm curious what does a 'budget build' mentioned consists of? Budget for one guy might be a lot different LOL....
depends lol, I got my block out of a wrecked truck, and ordered the heads through my buddy that is a gm mechanic and got them for more then half off normal price. Re-used all the factorys pulleys/alt ect, picked up a intake for cost and had it all put together by MTI plus all forged internals ( ouch $ ) when they where still opened. Added nitrous and I was good to go. My motor didnt cost to much to have it all built and ready to go but thats my case. As for the other guys dont know but I bet it is some where along those lines- cam/ nitrous and tires dont cost to much compared to FI and full motor builds.
I notice alot of these shops come up with smoke filled BS to get you to believe they
are something special..
Oh yeah a few bolt-ons and a 100 shot picked a 3750lb car up over 2 secs. & 14mph.
LOL LOL LOL
Also curious... Sure seems like a fast ET/MPH for a bolton/100 shot A4...

The car is a bolt ons LS2 with a little juice, stock cam, stock heads, stock gears etc.

You need not spend a fortune on them to get times like mine. Yes I have studied many GTO Set ups and tracked there progress over the last two years. Cartek like other companies have a basic plan to get you were you want to be in time and speed. It takes the expert like Julio to tune your car to it's potential, he is very good at what he does, that's why theres a back log for his services, money well spent in my opinion, they engineer your system to work correctly.

+1 but I am not saying that is what cartek is doing. Seems like they have a great reputation on there own without having to put out bs to up sales. My car ran 11.4 with just cai tires and nitrous so I would say yes it can be done. Now with just a 100 shot I dont know but see no reason a shop like cartek would bs about it.
Internet times are just that, know way to know what a car really has or how much nitrous unless you break it down and check the jets. When I race I will let anyone check my jets to verify the shot size if they think I am lying but thats me. I still say good job to cartek and the driver.
a bolton A4 with a 100 shot does not have the power levels to trap 124, I am confused
Did you even read the above posts? The car was running both a 100 shot and a 150 shot throughout the day, this particular pass was likely with the bigger shot.
But for the record the car did also trap over 122mph+with the 100 shot as well...or is that impossible too now?
Not sure what kind of morons actually count/believe that but this particular GTO is still running it's factory stock/original heads and cam in it.
True but in fact h/c are actually just bolted on, no machine work or boreing needed and still retain all stock bottom end. Also no way to know if heads have been ported and what not without pulling them. I trust the word of cartek and they seem to put out alot of fast cars so again see no reason they would say this just to hype up there shop which is already doing great.
I can put in a .062 nitrous jet and call it a 100 shot too.... I donno, just does not jive with what the rest of the world has been running for the past 4 years.

True but if someone takes the jet out or checks it before a pass and sees the 62 jet then you know its a 150. Shit even if the guy ran a 150 who cares 10's on a bolt on car is not to bad I think regardless if it was a 100 or 150.
Its a forum though.. Questions are to be expected.. I hope some people dont get to defensive and just let the time stand for what it is.. A good guy runing a great time
+1 I think 10's with any motor setup with a street car is pretty decent wheather turbo/sc/nitrous or all motor.

I agree fully, Bob is a great guy and a great time... I just am curious what he was running at the time.
Dude it is cartek. They continue to defy the rest of the lsx community repeatedly. Just go with it. It is what it is
LMAO I just spit tea all over the place...
