Good looking project. It's always a plus to find someone that's on the same wavelength as yourself when it comes to getting things fabricated. Good luck with the car.
I seen this on tech this morning.... Well needless to say I have stephen from ETMC c6 manifolds headed too me. I have all the stuff to do a log for my 91mm setup but were going to try this first but were using a 5in dp
Great looking setup. Should be a tad quicker than before
I'm sure as hell hoping so Rob! I hope I'm no shooting too high but I'm hoping to see between a 10.2 - 10.4 second ET out of this setup on low boost.

Twin GT35's and all that motor will definitely make for a sick setup.... but you're absolutely right about it costing some crazy money! You haven't had that Gen TTR setup on there for long at all. I have T4 flanges on this setup and will have a full 3" exhaust so hopefully flow won't be a problem, but I think I'm going to keep the stock displacement or go no bigger than a 370 c.i. motor so I don't end up in a situation like that.

Yeah probably not immediately because I still have lots of money to spend just to get the car running again, but I'll at least be having the manifolds, up-pipes, down-pipes, cold-side charge pipe, and turbo exhaust housings Jet-Hot coated. If money permits I'll also have the hot-side charge pipes coated and have the mid-pipes and X-pipe coated.

Thanks, and yeah I was surprised at just how much Joe is on the same page with me about everything on this whole process, so it has definitely set me at ease when he does his thing with my car.

Wow, I really don't think that even with a log manifold on one side that you're going to have enough room to run a 5" down-pipe. You're going to have to cut away a bit of the engine bay body to make that fit... and the driver's side would probably allow for the most room after cutting some metal, but I think you'd have problems getting past the steering knuckle with that size pipe still. Were you planning on trying to go down the driver's side or passenger's side with the down-pipe??

It's going on the passenger side. You have to think I have nothing on the passenger side. No abs or anything. Even the fuse box will be relocated. So I have enough room
A Nasty N8 Fuel cell in the trunk of that car would be a nice addition... I have one fore sale you know!!!???

Looks nice Andrew but are you going to powder coat the stock manifolds to cover that surface rust??????

Looks great. I was having thoughts of this to, But I don't have a mandrill bender. Are you planning on getting a different hood or having the plumbing ceramic coated for under hood temperature?

Hmm well I guess no ABS makes things easier up until you get to trying to create an exiting point for the down-pipe where it leaves the engine bay. I guess depending on how you do the other piping it may be possible. I'm definitely interested in knowing if you can make it happen!

You really think so? I'd be thrilled if that was the case! I was guessing on hitting 630 rwhp at 9 PSI with this setup, but I don't really know much about turbos. Something to keep in mind though is that my car is a stalled A4. The A4 itself puts down less RWHP than the M6, and the converter sucks up a few more on top of that. Were you considering that in your thoughts? If so, I'd wet myself a little if making that kind of power at just 7-8 PSI is doable.

I think I saw that in the for sale section, I don't remember. I'm not too concerned about a fuel cell for the time being, I'm more worried about the fuel delivery (pump(s), lines, etc.) for when I actually find out that I need to upgrade that stuff. I'll take a look at the ad though and PM you if I think I want it Mick!

Thanks Doc, and yeah I'm going to Jet-Hot coat those manifolds once I gather some more $$$ later. I need to take up chiropractics!!
If the car is running well this winter I'll very likely be down for the All GTO Track Day next year! I'll have to see how things go, but I want to do it again for sure!

I'll be keeping the stock hood, but I do plan on getting everything coated eventually. Depending on how money goes after this I'll definitely do the manifolds, up-pipes, turbo exhaust housings, down-pipes, and cold-side charge pipe coated first once I get the car running and make sure everything is 100%. I'm not sure if I'm going to do the hot-side charge pipes though as of yet but I'll decide once I get the car running.
Thought you'd have looked into that after the Maggie install
Lol! Good call Brian! Maybe not so much taking up chiropractics after that, but after leaning over 2 cars like that for 2 days straight I sure could've used a pretty, female chiropracticion to make my back feel better! Instead I just whined about my back for 2 days after the ordeal lol. How's the blower pulley thing coming along?

It would be nice to race you again!!! Last time we met at Gainesville you got your a$$ handed to you

Hey now, I'm good looking, just not your type! I know some hot female Chiropractic Physicians!!!

Dr.
Yeah, yeah! Haha I hit my 10.9 ET though on stock shortblock without nitrous!
Plus you've had that old '04 for a year longer than me, so you've had more time to do mods lol. But I'm always a good sport! Hahaha. We'll line it up again for kicks next time I have the car down that way

Yeah, you know Doc... getting massaged by another dude isn't how I plan on taking away the pain! Lol! Now, on the other hand.... if some of these hot, female chiropractic physicians that you know happen to work with/for you then I may need to stop by your office next time I'm down that way!

Thanks! Hopefully we'll have some more pictures soon, and there's not an awful lot left to do before I can crank the motor over so I'm getting anxious!
The 10.9 was done with the Maggie. I'd be hella disappointed if all I got was high 10's out of this new setup once I get it running haha.
What are they anyway? Needed bracing? always wondered that...

Here is some info on the parts being used for this setup:
2 - 62mm Precision Turbo HP Series billet turbos with S housings (Pt# HP6265 with .81 A/R)
2 - Tial 44mm wastegates
Tial Q bov
Dual 2.5" inlet, single 3" inch outlet vertical flow FMIC
C6 Corvette exhaust manifolds
2.5" stainless up-pipes
3" stainless down-pipes
custom dual 3" stainless exhaust with Bassani X-pipe and Bassani mufflers
2.5" aluminum hot side charge piping
3" cold side charge piping that will be stepped up to 3.5" after entering engine bay
NLR AMS-1000 boost controller
NOW THAT, is a great way to build a turbo system.
Those PTE turbos are awesome. We picked up 2 of them recently.
Did you get the billet wheel or ball bearing option?
Its a bit of over kill on our LS2s unless you will be going really high on boost ie ~15psi+, but they are suppose to deflect less and are lighter for spooling, which again isnt a problem with the displacement of the LS2.
Looks like you are in good hands.
And to those that ask, PTE turbos are better than the garret Gt series. They use thier own wheel design, where everyone else uses the same wheel casting from garrett. His turbos CAN make at least 600 to the rear wheels EACH. But they are pricey. You are looking at $3200 in turbos ALONE.
BTW here is the manifold, downpipe and a PTE 6765 billet ball bearing turbo thats going on our friends 2RZ pickup. his old setup made 590ish to the wheels:

Why spend that much when you can make more then that with a single,,,,,,,,,,,

if your talking about the the setup i posted, we bought two turbos for two different cars. I was just showing an example of one of our setup.
If you talking about the waste gates, its a twin scroll divided manifold with a custom backhousing.
If you are refering to Twins VS single turbo. Twins are easier to make on the GTO, and there will be less heat spread around, ground clearance due to the cross over pipe, and you dont have to run one a crossover pipe for the opposite bank.
And also, a single big turbo is obviously harder to spool and than comes the issue with space.
And yes some people would love to have the problem of how to fit a gigantic turbo in one tiny space, and some people dont.
