the drags bags go inside the rear coils and stiffs up the spring, and it makes the rear end act more like a solid axle rear rather than a sloppy IRS. The main thing that you are tirying to avoid is wheel hop. M6's suffer from this more than a4 do. not to say that they dont experience it too. Also, if you have bigger tires on the rear, the bags act as a bump stop almost and will not let the rear of the vehicle come down on the tires on a hard launch. ex, the track.

If you get a hard launch on DRs with the stock springs you'll likely smack the top of the tires against the inside of your fenderwell. DRs keep things nice and even, and they can be tuned but adding or lowering the air pressure for just the right amount of squat without hop.

what do Drag bags do as far as helping you hook up?
If you run at the track they can be very useful with a stock suspension and after market drag tires ..Help out with wheel hop and help hook at the track, just put 15-23 psi/ air in them and you should be good to go. I kinda liked them on the street to maybe run around 7-10 PSI....Good Luck
