We need a new type of sanity enforcement officers who have full authority to travel the country and punch stupid people in the face until they stop being stupid.
After attending this year's GTOAA Intl's in Dayton, I'm in for Wichita ... it's gonna be a little closer for me from St. Louis, MO than Dayton was ... and if it's near as much fun, it'll be great!
And it's gonna be held indoors! No need for car covers ...!
I'm still trying to figure out why the car show portion is on Sunday. It's usually on Satruday which makes it easier for people who have to travel home on Sunday. It seems like the dates are pushed back. Can anyone give any explanation to this?
Thanks,
Kim
I am a member of the GR-RRR8'R Wichita GTO club, host for the 2010 GTOAA Natls. It is my intention to consistantly monitor the forum to address any question, issues/problems and respond back in the effort of making this GTOAA Meet as enjoyable as possible.
Please don't hesitate to give me the opportunity to help in any way. If I don't know the answer, I do know who to contact that has the answer.
We want to make this Natls better than the one's held in '88 & '98, which were by all accounts a great success. We invite you to come and experience our Kansas hospitality.
Thanks. Cap

Let me address some questions that currently exist-
Playdough- the correct site to online register is www.gtoaameet.org
It has been scheduled as a 4 day event with the thinking that we would likely get better attendance given the current economy, the 5th is also a holiday (long weekend) which gives folks that day to travel home, and part of the venue includes a fantastic 4th of July Fireworks Display presented right outside the Host Hotel the evening of the 4th. The only day available for exsclusively Pontiac Drags was Saturday.
I hope that addresses your questions Kim.

Yes that does address my question. I wasn't even thinking about having the holiday in there. For some reason I was thinking at my work our holiday would be on the Friday, but you are correct it is on that Monday.
Morty.....you gonna try to come? I know it's along ways for you. You would certainly be a contender for the Long Distance Award.....we'd even put a cover on the award for you. Cap

I'm working out the logistic of the trip..
Not worred about the miles.. just the time it will take to get there and back without effecting the GTOAA week...
you know what I mean you made the trip to my side of the USofA
I have a question about the cars being indoors. Usually when they are inside you have to drop the gas in the gas tank to fairly low, and disconnect batteries and stuff. Are we still going to be able to go in and out as normal, or how is that going to work.
Playdough...I'm working on getting the official requirements for parking inside....I think I know from being inside at a show at Century II last year, but I want to confirm that nothing has changed. I will report back. Cap

Kim, the official answer is fuel tanks no more than 25% full, gas lids locked or taped and battery cable unhooked. I was in another car show there a year ago and those were the rules then, as well.
But no one ck'd me then. You can go in & out as normal.

Playdough, It's progressing but not tied up...the figures I've heard is $150, and I also was told it might be $200. Nothing definite but we're still trying to put it together. Not sure how many pulls, but I will report when we know for sure. Cap

That's pretty pricey for 2~3 dyno pulls.
Last time I was on the rollers it cost $60 bucks for 2 pulls and that's with A/F readings.

A small question since this party is inside. Is a fire extinguisher going to be required? Sorry had to ask.
