OK. i know it isn't going to work with everyone but we have to pick some date and this looks like one of the only ones. Last year we cruised out Leonard St. to Spring Lake. I think that it's a great drive as the scenery in the countryside is nice and there's lots of curves in the road. I drew up a tentative map. We could meet at the Meijer lot on the corner of Lake Michigan Dr and Wilson. It's a short drive up from there up to Leonard and then out to Spring Lake and Grand Haven. Leonard kind of follows the Grand River out to the lake and on the way back we can swing thru Grand Haven and then skirt along the south side of the Grand River thru Allendale and then back to Meijers. There's a couple of good bars/restaurants in Standale (Uccellos, Shots, Applebees) there if we need to unwind then. i think a morning start around 10-10:30ish, lunch out on the far end of the run and then the return mid-afternoon so those that have a ways to travel or have other plans that day can move on. If we wanted to make a bigger day of it we could go up to Muskegon to the city beach on Lake Michigan. It's a very big stretch of beach, has a big parking lot and it's free but that would add another 20 miles to it. Here's the general map of the "shorter", basic cruise. Anyone from the East side of the state should come over and see what a cruise looks like without seeing 50 strip malls .
OK. i revised the map a little. last year we had a good turnout and there was a bit of a problem with traffic lights so i redid the route a little to avoid as many as possible. i'll try to get out and do the route to make sure there aren't any bridges out or detours or anything. post up any questions, comments and if you think you can make it. it's a great cruise route let's have a great turnout

I don't know... I mean how can you possibly give directions without saying "Go 2 miles, turn left at Kohl's then another 4 miles and turn at Bank of America then turn at Quizno's/Borders" ???

ahaha...
I've live in both big city and country side alike so true....
well, it was a gorgeous day today so i took the route to check it out. i hope the 8th is as nice of a day. it was a 57 mile round trip. i'm going to have to redo a small section again. the road right above where it says "Allendale" has a dirt section so we will have to come south on 68th, go thru Allendale and then back to the path. i'll also look at maybe a different route thru Grand Haven as there are a lot of lights on a busy road (US-31) and we'd get separated. you know it's funny but most of the time you don't realize how close to being divided everything is. in the distance between Grand Rapids and Grand Haven there are only 2 bridges across the river. one at Eastmanville and one just east of Allendale. that's a 25 mile stretch.
Ok, so far we have myself, Kevin, maybe Dean and who knows about Sniper . we need at least 8 more to make a good showing. i think we had 10 or 12 last year
it was like 16 last year. And My only snag would be paintball with my co-workers. Sheesh, its not like your trying to get my out of a bar night like you always refuse to miss.

well i listed some above and there's some in the other thread that i don't know if they saw this one or not. it would be notice if the local guys that have read it and are not going would say they weren't. it would also be great if we could get in a couple of new guys from the east or south
I don't know for sure if ill be able to make it. I haven't seen my schedule for work yet. If I have Saturday off I will for sure be joining in the activities. I'll know better tomorrow.
well that's not going to happen any time soon then and we have to have the support of the local goats which isn't there either. the Dream Cruise is the following weekend. the Metro Cruise is 2 weeks after. i can guarantee that the chance is near non-existent that the weather, jobs, moon phase and paint ball competitions are going to line up like that.
