Question Spider bite with no bite mark?

1st of all I'm not on drugs ok.

About 5am I woke up from a bad dream where someone was stabing me with a sharp object and when I awoke my elbow hurt like hell.
1st thing I thought was spider bite but when I checked out my elbow in the mirror I could not see any bite mark. Elbow was and still is swolen, red and hot. And I can't bend it any more than 2 inches. Then I thought I just slept on it funny till my hand also started to swell up also. Not too serious but couldn't get my wedding band off.
After that I was back to thinking spider bite. Went to medical on base to get it looked at and they were also I was running a fever and my blood pressure was up a bit 153/95 it's normally 130/85. They gave me some allergy meds and told me if my fever got over 102 to go to the E/R.

Well it's 14 hrs later and it still looks like I have a golf ball on top of my elbow that's full of mush and can't move it more than 2 inches. WTF I've never had an allergic reaction to anything in my life, spiders, bees, ants, jellyfish, cobras, ect..... Well not cobras but anything else.

I know there are some strange critters in Texas and was wondering if there was some sort of insect that doesnt leave an actual bite mark you could pin point?

Medical on Base is like the company doctor, no? Go to the ER even though the ER is about as fun as a church service.

As far as bite marks I have no clue. But a spider bite it could be. Black Widow?????

LOL on the Base medical. That's about right. If I go to the E/R I will have to go to the base E/R. On the weekend that place is get well on your own or die! Good 8+hr wait if you are not gushing blood or having a heart attack.

Not a B/W have a buddy that got bit by one of those said it felt like his arm was on fire for 10hrs.

I've looked around but it seems like all spider bites should have a tiny red spot where you can pin point to and say" that's where thal lil shit bit me!"

any spider bite ive had, you never really could see the actual 'bite mark'

could be a brown recluse bite... if it starts getting black around the site and rotting flesh you will know.

but, since its a huge ball of 'mush', its full of puss and whatnot from whatever bit you.... id really recommend going to the ER as soon as possible because you don't want to let this go untreated.

but id put my money on a brown recluse, or a scorpion. good luck

From Web MD:

Reddened skin followed by a blister that forms at the bite site.

Mild to intense pain and itching for 2 to 8 hours following the bite.

An open sore (ulcers) with a breakdown of tissue (necrosis) that develops a week or more following the bite. This may take months to heal.

Some people have a severe, systemic (whole-body) reaction to brown recluse spider bites, including the rapid destruction of red blood cells and anemia (hemolytic anemia).

Signs and symptoms include:

Fever and chills.
Skin rash all over the body with many tiny, flat purple and red spots.
Nausea or vomiting.
Joint pain.

I would go to the ER if I was you, but the wait is going to be smurfing crazy! If it doesn't go down by the AM I would really consider heading to the ER or call your doctor..

I'd want to get that checked out again if the pain/swelling/fever continues. It sounds like a brown recluse bite.. I've heard people say they had a golf-ball sized lump after getting bit by them.
Here's a link with some info about the spider and symptoms after the bite: http://www.emedicinehealth.com/spide...article_em.htm
