Cam Recommendaitons?

I am looking for a cam that will give me the most performance out of my A4 without changing the stall converter. I daily drive my car now so I want to get the most out of if with the least amount of work possible. My setup will consist of a 6.0L LQ4 iron short block, 1 7/8 kooks headers, 3" catless exhaust through Magnaflow mufflers, I will have some good heads on the car, not sure if I will go with the GTP heads I just got or if I will upgrade to AFRs. I will be having the heads milled so that I end up around 11.03:1 compression. I am also going with 3.91 gears to offset not having a stall somewhat. If anyone has some good options for me I would appreciate it.

224/224 up to 228/228.
Send a PM to Speedygoatzales. Ask him how he likes his cam.

If you drive on the highway a lot you are going to get tired of the 3.91's and the excess rpm's you'll be spinning. Dollar for dollar, I think you'll get more out of a good stall vs. 3.91's.

My thoughts are, a nice cam matched with the right stall will be better than a compromised cam choice for the stock stall, and 3.91's thrown in to try to compensate for the mismatch between cam and stall.

I ran my car with a TR224 cam for a year with a stock cam, no problem. When I put a new tranny in, I also slipped in a 2800 RPM converter. Wish I had done it from the beginning.

I am very used to the high RPMs from the last motor I had. It was not a very highway friendly motor at all. The real "issue" I have with the stall is that my exhaust is all welded and in order to get the stall in, I would have to pull my motor. That's is the last thing I want to do right now. I do have a Z06 cam that I was thinking about using. It's the +02 cam so it has the bigger specs. I just didn't know if there was a better cam to suite my needs.

That cam won't be much of a bump in hp, 8-10hp about the same as 1.8 rockers.

You might like the Lingenfelter GT2-3 cam.

You will pick up some HP but there are much better choices out there, even if you don't go with a stall.

I am definately going to look hard. If changing the stall wasn't such a PIA for what I have, I would do it. OR if I knew how to weld, I would do it(something I, for some reason, haven't learned to do in my 29 years of life). I am trying to make a weekend out of my mods rather than drag it all out. I just need to get everything ready to go. I have everything but the cam now.

I think a 220/224 .581/.581 114 would work real well for your needs.

I like the off the shelf TR224 cam.

However, I am still quite partial to something like:
224/226 .585/.587 on a 111LSA
