Challenge for you experienced modders - IAT Relo stock airbox, don't want to drill

Short of the story is I want to relocate the IAT but I do not want to drill holes into the airbox (or anything, for that matter). I was going to put it in the little hole in front of the air intake hole on the radiator cover, but decided against it because I wasn't sure if that spot was good or not.

Anyone have any ideas? Free e-beer to all who participate! (no beer emoticon??? )

Thanks,
Bill

If you have a long enough harness you can run it into the hole in the stock box and mount it in there.

I have the casper harness.... don't think it gives me enough length to do that

Edit: Unless of course you mean mount it inside the tube, but wouldn't that restrict flow?

I have a casper harness and I can hang mine in the grill opening or even the lower grill opening. Not the best place for accurate temps but it works good when racing at the track.

I'm certainly not looking to create an environment where my engine will knock. Is that what you mean by accurate temps?

Should I just buy another airbox and drill into that? My concern is if I go to sell it in the future, I'd like to be able to return it to 100% stock.

Buy a used stock intake box that you can modify and save your original intake.

George

This is the route i'm going to go, thanks.

Edit: Would it be better to put it inside the intake tube?

Ideally you would want it after the filter and not touching anything. If it's mounted right to the box, when the box gets hot, the sensor will get hot.

Seriously man, the stock box has a section that looks like it was made to be tapped for this mod. It's really NOT that "intense" as far as modding goes, you just drill, insert the grommet then the sensor and put some silicone around it....it takes 10 minutes...

NOt so worried about the drilling, worried about putting the goat back to stock form sometime in the future if necessary.

Mind showing me a pic of the area you're talking about? I took a look at it but didn't' really see anything that stood out. Thanks.
