Magnaflow vs Bassani sound??

Currently I have the Magnaflow XL-3 Mufflers and I really like the tone while driving. It sounds like a true muscle car. Maybe beacuse I also have an H-Pipe and gutted cats too. Now the thing I dont like about them is how they are mounted as seen below. There is no way to flip flat due to the spare tire well and plastic shield.

I want to keep that kind of sound thow. At the same time I have found a very good deal on a Bassani Catback. I found a video of an H-Pipe in replace of the x-muffler and to me it sounds pretty badass. It almost sounds like a flowmaster which I had but was very drony. Future plans are longtubes with no cats. Any help is appreciated. Would that setup drone? Here are a few other vids I found.

Now the kicker is this does not sound anything like the above video but supposidly its the same setup(H-Pipe Bassani Resonators)

My opinion would be to ditch the XL-3's for anything with a straight through design. The Bassani sounds good to me.

I like it but not the way the mufflers are installed. I have been told they are not straight threw like the stockers so I dont like that either.

I can yes to that. There was a gto at my work the other day. Had SLP Longtubes w/ catted mids and the slp loudmouth. I told the guy to revv it up and it tickled my ear lol and everyone stopped what they were dong to see what made that amazing sound. More or so that setup "Barks". Whats different between the 1 and 2? A resonator vs a muffler?

If you like your mufflers so well, just not the way that they are mounted, why not just mount them in front of the axle like the '04's? That's what I did with my Flowmasters.

I am thinking about having them put in the 04 location actually. But they are offset/center. So it may be more challenging to have them fabbed up.

Magnaflow is like the tin man of exhausts..it has no heart to it. It sounds okay..but really it does not sound rich. Bassani is slightly louder, and much richer.

i'm biased, and love the sound on mine and many goats and others at the track tell me so. before, i had cats it sounded awsome, and it's even better without cats. i just recomend undercoating the heat shield that comes with it and the spare well in/out for those long 400mile trips, it really makes it very comfortable in the cabin. BASSANI.

They sound fine, do not mess with it. The Magnaflows do have a nice sound, I have 14616's and an X pipe. Love it. Save your $.

I've got a 04. Love the BASSANI sound on the 05-06. Will the bassani's for the LS2 producea different tone on the LS1?

Also what series bassani to go with? I'll do Headers, High flo cats, and axle-back bassani. Id'e mount them like the 04 (mufflers) if I can, and I guess run a 05-06 exhaust due to the fact I have a 05-06 rear bumper conversion in the works.

Any high flow cat recommendations?

(im a fan of the slp LT's spice red 05-06 you tube clip)

You want the 14616 it is a 6 inch case less drone. I have just a little bit around 1800-2000 rpm- not bad and will not hurt your ears. If you have a M6 you will not be bothered because you can choose either 5th or 6th gear.

I don't think you could fit a 6 inch round case in the 04 location. Never heard of it being done. Maybe a 14 inch body in length might fit.

What would the difference be? Most cars tend to sound a little bit cleaner on the exhaust note when the muffler is not at the very end of the exhaust pipe.

Just like that huh? No reason to support your claim, just "You want them in the 2005 location in the back."

Mine are in the '04 location and they work and sound great.

I've got Kooks Lt's, catless mids, x pipe and magnaflow 14416's...I honestly wouldn't change a thing...sounds badass no doubt...plus it only costed me $100 for mufflers

Although bassani sounds badass..however its Much Much more expensive...
