Thats not a smart car. Its a Ford escape and it happend on the West Bank Expressway near where I live. The lady driving it (sole occupant) survived...I have the rest of the pics somewhere here on my computer. I'll dig them up and post them.

Yeah, I was gonna say Smarts only have 3 lugs on each wheel when that pic shows 5.
What do you expect when you're rear-ended by one dump truck into the back of another? You better sell all your cars now and get some armored trucks.

How so? The myth was the car was so squished it wasn't even discovered until the trucks were separated. You can clearly see the squished car and that's what their testing showed (even if it wasn't an exact head on crash).

Sorry for the small images. Its the best I could find on short notice. Like I said, the girl lived, and, as you can see, it wasn't a smart car. The 2nd dumptruck smashed into the escape after coming off of the elevated portion of the expressway. I'm not sure how fast he was going, but I don't think very many vechicles would have done well in this instance.

Soooo if its an escape.....guess it doesn't matter if I want a Smart car.
Two dumptrucks hit you in any normal passenger vehicle and the angles of impact and where you are in the car (assuming you are buckled up) is what matters. If she had a passenger, they would have been dead.
