People in Baja refuse to evacuate with Cat 4 Hurricane on the way
What is about hurricanes that brings out the stupidity in people? This happens every time, and it just isn't just the mexicans a we saw all idiots in NO who refused to split.
Winds of up to 155mph can hit and you got these people insisting to ride it out in shacks made of scrap and plastic. Here is a quote from todays' article about it:
"Many residents ignored the order, fearful that their few possessions — a TV, radio or refrigerator — would be stolen if they left.
Jose Miguel Leyva, a cab driver, nailed another plastic sheet to his rickety wood framed shack, vowing to stick it out as long as he could.
"We're putting all we can into the house," Leyva said. "They told us to go to a shelter. If it gets bad maybe we will. We can go in my car."
How much plastic sheeting does it take to enable your makeshift shack withstand 155mph winds? Does anyone in FL use plastic sheeting or saran wrap to protect their home? And, how can that guy travel in his car if they get 15" of rain and the roads flood out?

George Bush's' patented Hurricane generator must have escaped the Caribbean and made its way to the Pacific. Dubya hates black people, and Mexicans too.

Reminds me of the Ron White bit about some old guy who thought he was in good enough physical shape to withstand the 100mph winds of a hurricane.
"It isn't THAT the wind is blowin', its WHAT the wind is blowin'. If you get hit with a volvo, it doesn't really matter how many situps you did that mornin, now does it?"

I have little sympathy for people who live in areas where natural disasters are known to occur. I have even no sympathy for those who choose to remain behind when a natural disaster does happen.

There are a bunch of dumbshits trying to "ride out" the Station Fire in Southern California on their own.
Three people stayed at their house even though police and fire told them to get out. Nope, they said. We've got garden hoses (and a slip n' slide). Nevermind the fact that airplanes filled with retardant and squads of professionals with 4 or 5 inch diameter hoses aren't making a dent. Well, when they got over run -- they all thought jumping into a hot tub would keep them safe. They're all in the hospital with third degree burns now.
Now there's another group of five. Same thing -- except this time they're calling via cell phone begging to be rescued. Police and fire's telling them "nope, can't get in there now -- no visibility."
Hey OP, lets start the Katrina debate all over again, watch your mouth.
