I Almost Hate To Say This! Bring Bangle Back To Style BMW's!

Check out what's coming soon from BMW:

They call it the 2010 BMW 5 Series GT, I call it ugly. Porsche is no doubt thrilled that the Panamera will not be the ugliest sedan on the road!

TBP, you underestimate the power of The Magic Roundel and its ability to persuade yuppie idiots to buy ugly cars with multiple issues.

MotorWeek was on today. They reviewed that dopey BMW SUV that looks like an Aztek. Here was their review:

"The styling is funny, it eats tires, drinks gas and has had multiple electrical issues -- but, WOW, IS IT GREAT!"

And I continue to put up with endless shit from Marin County snobs around here who say "ewww, a Pontiac" when my GTO has been trouble free while their cars are endlessly going into the shop. Meanwhile, they lease their cars and rent their houses -- yet they try to look down their noses at me.

People are funny.

They already have the X6, why do they need this VERY similar 5 series GT?

The X5 was a 5er wagon with a lift, this is an X6 with a drop.

BMW should stop diluting their damned model lineup.

I blame Mercedes for this. They came out with the CLS-Class and the Deutsche designers just went slap happy with rooflines. Retarded.

Hrmmm... everything I've read about the X6 pretty much pans the styling. I remember the day my wife first saw one, went something like this:

"Hey, I saw a new BMW X5 today at Starbucks."

"Oh yeah? I didn't know BMW had a new X5."

"Well it was a BMW and sort of looked like a SUV."

"Let's go to the BMW site and see what it was."

*wife points to X6*

"Mother of God..."

People are funny.

for tax purposes. both can be business (travel) expenses. 40% off is pretty appealing even though it still doesn't balance the numbers on a leased vehicle if you plan on owning it eventually.

The Bangle Butt/Design was universally panned but it seems every car maker from Honda to Toyota has copied it.
Weird.
Now the cars, except for the 3 series are ugly.

I will not own a BMW car newer than an E46 3-series or an E39 5-series ever again. The best BMW I ever owned was my 1999 528 wagon. Lots of space, fun to drive, and still got 30mpg on a long trip (with over 100,000 on the odo).

The new ones have nothing to offer me. BMW is stuck in the same morass as the other German manufacturers, selling shit to wanna-be yuppsters. Meh.

Yeah, its hideous but BMW isn't all bad in their concepts. Although it will probably never hit the streets, I found this looking totally different than any car out there.

I disagree! That concept is hideous! What happened to simple clean lines. Why can't designers go back to clean lines instead of all this cluttered crap! The rear of that thing is the most cluttered I think I've ever seen on any concept car. The front and sides are not much better, either.

Your not disagreeing with me, I'm not in love with this design either. All I said is that BMW has the capability to make cars that look different than what we are used to, whether its shocking, ugly, or just cluttered like this one. The fact is, with the basic 4 wheels, most coupes tend to look the same once you cover em up with a sheet and look at the overall shape. This little guy stands out more than others, and with lots of work from BMW, it might not look too bad.

As for the Camaro comment, I'm not sure if your serious or just blind??
