Ok have some issues with getting this car to turn over. Here is the checks I done. Keep in mind 2004 6speed
1. Checked starter and it tested good.
2. Checked + to starter and it's hott.
3. Made a jumper for the clutch switch to see if the switch went bad.
4. Ran a ground wire from the starter to the battery - because the starter grounds itself via the block. This would have let me know if I had a bad ground.
5. Checked all grounds. Drivers rear head, passenger front head, passenger ground by a/c passengerside by abs. All are connected.
6. Checked all fuses.
All lights and everything works. Car will not send a signal to the starter to turn over. I am lost at this point either the ign is fried or when the oem tune was loaded back on the PCM there was issues. He did not do a full write just a update.

Not even tired that nor do I want too LOL. However my next plan is bypass the ign. I can put a push button start to see if it's a ign problem. It's simple one wire to ign relay on starter and one wire to hot on starter. All ran back to button.
I feel like it is called the BCM - although I could be wrong on the acronymn... basically there is what I think is called the BCM fuse in the engine compartment... and then there is the actual BCM (I really hope I have the name right). It is located behind the glove box - and what happens is that the wires tend to rub up against a sharp piece of support in there and get cut. Before you know it you can't start your car because of it.
You can't start a GTO by bypassing anything. A proper key must be in the ign cylinder to have the security system tell the ECM it's OK to start. There is no ignition system in a GTO. The ECM directly fires the coil packs. I can't believe after 5 years anyone is proposing anything contrary. I would suspect a BCM issue as a starting point. You'll need a dealer with a Tech 2.

no starter signal sounds kinda like VAT. Did you swap out any PCM's or BCM's?

No but a 0 gauge ground wire was run through that grommet in the firewall on the passenger side. I could see that the wires may have got exposed.

Had this problem a while back, it was my BCM and replaced under warrant. I am having this problem again but randomly now only sometimes and it goes into safety mode with a P0606 code. Once i let the car cool down starts up and runs fine....

I can't believe some of you guys go at this stuff with no wiring diagrams or diagnostic info.
Check the security light as mentioned by one intelligent member. It SHOULD NOT be flashing.
There's a starter relay. Check it. It's grounded by the PIM, that's Powertrain Interface Module. It has inputs and/or outputs from/to both the BCM and PCM. I'm sure that's where it gets the A-O-K from the VATS to go ahead and crank the starter. You should have a scanner, preferably a tech 2. That would make life much easier.
I replaced the relay still the same crap. This is the relay in the engine bay fuse box. Is there another one? no security light flashing. I would have a tech2 if they were not so much.
a tech2 not gona tell you crap you need to bust out the multimeter or test light and a wiring diagram and check power
basically it goes: fused 12V to ing switch then goes through the clutch switch or neutral safety switch (if you have an automatic) then to the relay if bcm switches the relay then out to the starter
