Ok have some issues with getting this car to turn over. Here is the checks I done. Keep in mind 2004 6speed
1. Checked starter and it tested good.
2. Checked + to starter and it's hott.
3. Made a jumper for the clutch switch to see if the switch went bad.
4. Ran a ground wire from the starter to the battery - because the starter grounds itself via the block. This would have let me know if I had a bad ground.
5. Checked all grounds. Drivers rear head, passenger front head, passenger ground by a/c passengerside by abs. All are connected.
6. Checked all fuses.
All lights and everything works. Car will not send a signal to the starter to turn over. I am lost at this point either the ign is fried or when the oem tune was loaded back on the PCM there was issues. He did not do a full write just a update.
I had this very same problem after my chassis shop ran a sawzall through my wire bundle under the dash (yea, really did happen)
There is a diode or something in one of the bundles that comes off the key ignition switch back behind the gauges. I had to run a new trigger wire before the fried diode to a relay I mounted on the fender by the ABS box, from the relay I ran a trigger wire to the starter.
This solved the whole problem and works great.
I never did figure out what the diode thing was or what it did but I assume it was something to do with VATS.
Ya I was thinking it was something to do with the VATS. I am temped to just do a push button to get this thing started. I think I have a wiring dirgram I can look at.
you can flash in to IGNORE the VATS. thats what i would do. get HPT and flash it in there and turn the VATS off and all the security off. thats may fix it for you

Ya VATS is what I was thinking. Might have kicked it on when I put the stock radio back in because its coded. Code is in now however does not work. I will see if I can get the hptuners or someone with a tech2
