Are there any motors of the same size that spin faster?

Yeah, I have dropped my kids off at school with my 06' a couple of times and it is awkwardly slow standing at the dropoff with the door open blocking traffic waiting for the seats to move. Guess I could just have them enter/exit the passenger side and leave the set all the forward. Irritating.................

Great, it's unanimous that the motors are in fact slow - that is nothing new .... But we need someone who knows about electric motors to weigh in on whether or not there is a way to get the existing motor to spin faster, or to replace the elec motor with a more powerful/faster one.

I have not looked up under the seats to kno whether or not the motor is something you can easily swap out, or if there is room for a larger motor. Doesn't seem like it would take too much to make it work ** in theory ** though.

If you want to go quicker, do you switch motors ?

You need to change the gear.

If I remember, they did change the gear in the '05 & '06's.

So, could it be done ? Yes. You just have to manufacture a new gear. Would / Could it fit ?

Who knows ?

This seems like a major project for relatively little gain. I don't let anyone in my backseats, so maybe I'm a bit biased...

Check out stock drive products. There you can buy a motor or another gear to adjust speed. I have never looked at one of the seat motor assemblies so I can not say what is the "driving" factor. But I would assume that either a motor that spins faster or a different sized gear.

I also don't use the back seats.

+1, it's not that bad in the grand scheme of things. It's more like 5 seconds anyway.

You could use what is called a boost power supply to increase available DC voltage from 12 to say 18 - 20 volts. This could potentially shorten the lifespan of the motor though.

I will try it if I find a schematic or a readily available ps.

I get shot down every time I ask about this. I still say a direct 15V at seat would do the job. I have 05 and 06 seats no diffrence. Just dont know how other than a BAP. I dont think it could handle gearing. I see so many cars that have a simple manual mechanical arm that tilts seat for entry. Would have been much better choice.
