I was walking my dog and hear this plane overhead.
There are tons of passenger jets making their last turn right over my town before their final approach to Fort Lauderdale International airport and I am quite familiar with all their sounds.
This one was flying low, but the sound of his engines was more thunderous. And he didn't turn toward Fort Lauderdale, instead he kept on going straight, toward Miami.
I couldn't see it very well in the dark sky, but the wing roots were very close to the nose, and the wings were more swept back than any current passenger jets.

You need to still hide the car somehow. usually I try park next to some sort of tree or bush that at least hides the car from certain angles.
c5 sound like they are coming apart at landing speeds

so you think those motors sound good at landing , and by the way i was a f 14 mech
so i have been on the field when they land , and got to refuel just about every transport the airforce had .
the damn thing looks like its going to fall out of the sky, going so slow to land .

I wasn't arguing your point....just adding to it. The engines have a loud shreaking sound as they're lumbering their way on final....

Those TF33's on the B52 are loud as hell compared to new commercial airliners.
The C5A's are weird too... I think they run a variant of the GE CF6, IIRC.

Is GE part of the new reengine program going on with the C5's?
All I know is that they were looking at the PW4000 for the KC767 when that was still on the table. The C17 has the F117, which is a variant of the PW2000.
I did a lot of work in Bossier City, La at our Test Drilling Rig which sits just a few miles north of Barksdale AFB. Around 2:00 the BUFFS would start making touch and goes. I swear they use our Derrick as a turn marker to line up for the run way.
Now a drill floor is a loud working place where you have to yell to be heard. If a B-52 was overhead (where one normally see's them, lol) that noise downs out everything.
Now for really loud? Try a B-1B on take off or high speed run over head in full afterburner!
I doubt you could confuse a C130 with a B52. C141 maybe or a C5.

i always find it funny how many experts there are in aviation, tanks, and submarines posting on message forums rattling off model numbers and specifications.
My grandmother's house was directly under the approach to Carswell in Fort Worth. I don't know how she was able to live in that house for 50 years, and I'm surprised the house never just shook apart.
