favorite V8 sound?
Definitely the E92 V8 BMW M3 Coupe.

Next car to own is going to be this.

wish the GTO had that high rev crisp non popping sound

I like all v8 sounds. But i favor the high revving sport sound much like this. The gto sounds good but its got that offset american rumble. Not an exotic sound like the bmw.

Rolls Royce Merlin , OK it's a V12 but it is sweet, the GTO has some of that at 2000 rpm, thats why I like it so much.

I think that bimmer sounds like ass. Not what I think of when I think of V8 sound. I don't like the "high revving sport sound"

I've always liked the sound of this vette (probably already long ago blew the engine up, lol). There are a couple of other cars at the start, the v8 sounds of interest begin at about 3:30 in:
