Carnival is giving away free cruises

I got one of these offers that went out to members of the Crnival Players (casino) Club. I am a member only because I signed up (to get a free cocktail voucher!) and have gambled a total of maybe $5 on all my cruises (so the computer "knows"me).
Deal? They have some way underbooked cruises that need people. The three day Elation on 10/16 and 10/26. The cruise is free, passenger has to pay port and tax which I think is $40pp. You also have to pay tips, which would be an extra $30 pp.So, works out to be a total of $140 for two people, or about what'd you ay to spend three nights in a motel six. Of course, Motel six won't entertain you, get you sauced on whisky sours and let you eat all the lobster you want!

Do you have a website link or is this only for past customers.

On a related note I entered a drawing in Vegas to win Chris Angel's Z06. I got a call a few days ago, the gal asked if I entered the drawing she then proceeded to tell me I won. After my heart attack and silence she informed me it wasn't first place , I had won second prize. I won a weeks stay in Luxor and all she needed was my credit card number. Everything is a scam anymore.

FTFY. Sounds like a scam to me.

it is an invite only offer. no scam at all as the offer is through Carnival, you have to call Carnival direct to get the offer. A few people over at cruisecritic have taken them up on the offer. Also, I have had some incredible deals with casinos as well.
My last one was for a place called Boomtown, just outside of Reno. They offered two nights, $50 food credit (they have a great prime rib restaurant) and $60 cash, all for free. We went there and that is what they gave us! We live 30 minutes away from Reno as is, but we went there the weekend we saw Aerosmith in Reno and liked the short drive to and from the concert.
Last month, Carnival offered me a four day cruise for two, ocean window, $100 on board credit, bottle of champagne with chocolate strawberries for $399. I am a CCL stockholder, so add an extra $50 to the obc.

Doesn't sound like a "free" cruise to me. $140 for two people and travel costs to get to and from the port. That's just the beginning. Adds up quickly.

What's "just the beginning"? What "adds up quickly?" On the cruise, you get free food and entertainment. Like you don't leave a tip when you eat at a land based resteraunt?
Food includes things like lobster, shrimp, prime rib, good stuff. Also, they always have the captains party where you get all the booze you want to drink- for free!
Plus, you get the entertainment (shows and comedian). How much would you pay on land to get 6 cocktails, prime rib/lobster diner, then see a show? Plus, since you are on a ship, you don't have to drive (re: risk getting a dui!), you just walk.
I have been on cruises where the only thing on my account was tips. I usually sneek in booze in my suitcase. Got two more planned for this summer...

I got a call (automated) for Carnival saying the same deal. I hung up thinking it is some kind of scam. I went back in July. Freakin' awesome, but it adds up quick if you want to do the fun stuff.
