At least in Detroit you can get a house to
yourself.. over there they have 10,000 people
living in one building. What the smurf was in
those bombs? Fertilizer?

About what? The Japanese can build neat ferris wheels and cram more people together per square inch than anywhere else in the world. Detroit is the most visible monument to the decline of our domestic auto industry-snap a few pics of decayed buildings-so what.

The images could demonstrate a couple of points. Even though the two cities were bombed to hell and back, they rebuilt bigger and better. Also, while those pictures may or may not be prime examples of Detroit, it just shows that it's not the end of the world for them. They need the drive to return to something bigger and better.
While this country is wallowing in its own self pity over something that's not nearly as catastrophic as having bombs dropped on you, the world still grinds on. It's like an MMO where a player who thinks he's super important has to leave the game world for an extended period of time or permanently, the game continues as if (s)he never existed.

United States Population Density: 31/km2 (180th)
Japan had to build there they dont have anywhere else to build (except up) And the whole country is almost like one big city so ya it looks nice and flashy but ill take my house any time 500acres and no one within half a mile

I liked the nighttime pictures. It's pretty amazing how everything shines and glows in the dark...even though they don't have electricity yet.

Well, when you send part of a country back to the stone age, I suppose they have to devote their resources to rebuilding instead of expanding.
Well i'm sure that having the entire city leveled it like starting with a blank slate for city designers. next to nothing there is over 64 years old. Some of the places around here could certinally do with a little leveling.

I'm guessing the half-life on those bombs was very insignificant?
I suggest you read a book on the subject.
Onto the main subject, bombing a city and killing 100,000 people is not the same thing as 1 million letting their city turn into a shit hole. Why not compare either city to Las Vegas? One was built building the bomb the other was destroyed because of it.
