is your exhaust system new ???? sometimes systems make this sound when cooling down or warming up.

the other thing, do you have any fluid leaks anywhere. Fluid touching hot pipes can make that type of noise. Last but not least, bad cats will also cause this type of sound when loose particals of their internals move around when the car is running

I think it is just a little rich tune wise. Nothing to really worry about.

After I put my exhaust on it popped like crazy. Went and got tuned, and the popping is practically non-existent.

But in his case he didnt get exhaust...just gas... I've never heard of the exhaust sounding different after a re-fuel, unless it was also running differently.

I know what it is! Broken exhaust hanger! Mine was doing this. Check the hanger under the rear seats. It's a weird crackeling sound, metal type of sound. It didnt look broke until you really look at it, but the exhaust just barely moves from the vibration of the motor and rubs making this noise.

The reason I thought of that one was because my Chevy P/U did the same thing a few years ago and the noise drove me crazy.

Exhaust crackling noise

Nope..took it to my local mechanic..their exhaust guy spent about an hr checking it over. He dropped the mids and did his best to inspect the cats. I took it back to COMPLETE STREET in PA to get their take on it. They found the problem. The bracket that holds up the mids was complete severed north and south of the bolt. So with the shake of the cam and much more power it rattled. Andy took it off and rewelded...everything is sweet. Once again they did a great job.
