Loud is in the eye of the beholder.

Some people think borla is too quiet while others think its loud.

I myself have SLP LM1 and its super loud but I love it.

In my opinion you can't go wrong with Corsa touring. No drone and only loud at WOT.

Ah, Well that sucks, how far away from worcester are you? no shitty little SD card or anything... also do you get pulled alot with the spintech? or do they give you a hard time passing emissions?

50 min from Worcester. Never get pulled over. Don't have to worry about emissions testing in MA anymore, that is not an issue. Again lmk if you want to stop by someday.

I know I'm really late in the game on this post, but if anyone is interested, here's a vid of mine on a dyno. IMO, Borla's have a nice deep sound that's not obnoxious. I've been teased though for having 5" ricer tips that come with the Borla on it...

This vid is of the car with a Vararam and Borla Cat back, that's all. Stock exhaust manifolds and stock cats, stock cam, intake, etc..

When I first put my borla catback on, I thought it sounded the same as stock. Once I installed longtubes it really woke up. Its pretty tame below 3k but if you go WOT it screams!

see im in a bit of a pickle. i want my car to sound like it did when i had just straight pipes and stock manifolds. but now that the headers are on its just really loud. and it seems as if there isnt a good choice of exhausts to give me what i want, its either keep it ear poping loud or make it close to stock... i just dont know what to do.I would imagine that corsa would do the job but its WAAAAY to expensive.

I just from FM 10's (single chamber) UBER LOUD with Lt's and a cam to full 2.5" from headers back and 6" magnapacks in the 05-06 position and it toned it down a lot but still screams at WOT.. I love it, I can keep it down in town but still noticable and then scream when I want to. It sounds just like the magnaflow ovals but 20-30% louder

I love the way my Borla sounds, it sounded almost stock with the stock manifolds and cats but after I installed a set of Kooks stepped headers and catless mids it got a lot louder. It sounds nice and smooth/exotic from idle to about 4k rpm under light throttle and if you romp on it its so much louder it almost sounds like a different exhaust is on the car. If you have cats it will be quieter but I think that it would still sound really good. Here are some vids of my exhaust.

I have no mufflers, just stock resonator and stock manifolds and my pipes come out before the rear tire on the sides and its pretty loud. It also does gurggle when you let of the gas. I think its kinda cool.

With headers, anything is loud - including Borla. For reference, here's mine:

My goat is cammed now, and it's a bit noisy in the lower RPM's, and borderline obnoxious when at WOT.

Did you notice a sound level difference at lower RPMs going from stock manifold and cat back to pacesetter and catback? the speakers on my computer are not that great.

Absolutely. With stock manifolds, the sound levels were on par with the stock catback, but the tone was completely different. It was no "louder" than stock but had the Borla sound. After LT's, it's louder across the board with greater drone at low RPMs under load. Cruising, if you're in the "wrong" gear (such as 6th at 55 MPH) and apply throttle, the resonance from the drone is overpowering. Turn up stereo.

yes the magnapacks are louder than the oval magnaflows but not a drastic ammount. the 04 location is supose to cut down on drone but I don't get much of (any also I have split exhaust) with the 6" magnapacks in the 05-06 location

This is what my car sounded like b4 the headers....Its MUCH louder now...

The thing is, if i use the bullets i have, i dont get that nice X-Pipe that Borla has, not to mention that it will be a frankenstein exhaust. I hate the Magnaflow X-pipe i have on the car.

I got a magnaflow catback and i think it sounds decent but then again i don't have my kooks yet. Any ideas for making it louder once i get the kooks? I'm talking set off car alarms loud. I do have to have cats to pass inspection in mass so that's not really an option.

At WOT it should set off car alarms with the catback you have. If you want obnoxious, get SLP LM1/2 or Spintech (be prepared to get pulled over).

Not so much at WOT as just sitting in the parking lot starting her up ya know? That would be sweet.

I've gotten pulled over because of my spintech but not since then after almost a year. Spintech with LTs is LOUD. I love the sound of it from inside the car, foot to the floor or just cruising, but if you are anywhere outside, specifically behind the car it is ungodly loud. I have had someone text me who lives across campus from me saying, "loud car," when I start it up.

LMI is also LOUD, probably louder than spintech with that setup, and personally I think it sounds like shit. I absolutely LOVE the sound of my spintech but sometimes it is annoyingly loud, like if you are trying to be stealthy. You cannot sneak in my car, me and my friends joke about that all the time.
