Hmm. Might Have to Get Me One

Colorado residents can get a $42K rebate if they buy a 2009 Tesla Roadster before the end of the year.

I wonder what the rebate would be on the Koenigsegg CCXR.

Or does "biofuel" not count as an "alternative energy source?"

Let me rephrase that.

It'll be a cold day in Hell before my wife lets me pay $68K for a car.

But it's tempting to buy the Tesla in December and eBay it in January.

It is if it's just going to sit in my garage long enough for the ink to dry on the loan.

Buy in for $68K, cash out a month later for $90K. Seems like a win-win.

Doric, you live so far out in Kansas the battery would die before you made it to Denver. Youd be out there with a solar panel and a mirror trying to charge it up.

That does sound like a good idea, unless you had trouble selling the car... You could create the first all electric Grammar Police cruiser!

Finding the dim-witted chump who pays $90K seems to be a risky hump to ride. HowEVAR, he who humps last humps best.

So since general electronics work better in the cold (like cpus) does this mean you might see a power bump in the winter? Tesla with Liquid Nitrogen FTMFW!!!

Would you have to pay it back like most other tax credits? IE the first time home buyer tax credit.

You are grossly misinformed if you believe that the first time home-buyer tax credit must be paid back (assuming that you stay in the house 3 years).

But would this tax credit be similar in that you have to own it for a certain period of time?

Wouldn't the loan be for the full 100K? Then you get the rebate. Am I missing where the rebate comes right off the sticker price?

Yes, not 100K but I would spend some money for one.

No, you're absolutely right - the loan amount would be for the full purchase price.
