Putting a 6.0 in my 04 gto

Picked up a 6.0 with L92 heads out of a 09 G8.
Looking to do a few things to the engine and then drop it in.
I am sure someone has done this before so what should i watch out for.
If you have links please post, I have searched but did not find anything.
I was wondering about the wire harness, since it didnt come with one. Not to sure which one I will need.
Any help will be great.

You're gonna need more than just a wiring harness. The reluctor wheel on the crank is different than your 04 so is the computer. Probably why you don't see any threads on it because it is to costly.

Its a PITA but there are people who make kits to do it....its actually fairly common to put LS2s in Fbodies from what I've been reading so just do searches for the kits. I have not heard of the G8 motor being swapped in though because it has that displacement on demand crap.

It shouldn't be too terrible. Just take out the DoD crap, change the reluctor wheel, and just be aware that some sensors may not fit the new engine.

I think GM makes a plug and play kit for this type of stuff.

Just change out the reluctor wheel??? Are you aware of what it takes to change a reluctor wheel from 58X to the 24X that he needs?? it is cheaper and faster to change the crankshaft, but you are in luck Lingenfelter now makes a conversion box so that you can run a 58X reluctor wheel motor with a 24X computer

Sorry to hear that. I did that myself a couple of months back. I know how much of a pain it is with workmans comp, and everything tied in with. Not to mention all the junk mail that comes with it, if you go to the hospital.

No need to change to the reluctor wheel/ crank. Look for LS2 conversion kit offer from GMPP

OK break given, I hope you feel better, I have had knee surgery recently and I am sure you know as I do your back and my knee will bother us for the rest of our lives, and remind us daily (with pain) that will never go away.

Some LS2's are 24x mainly GTO's and some are 58X mainly Corvette's and Trail Blazer's you can look at the crank sensor and it is either gray = 24X or black = 58X
