Had one of my customers come in today. He leased a Nissan Murano and the lease is up. He took it in for its end of lease inspection and here is what they are charging him.
wiper blades $150
Scratch in rear bumper 1 inch long size of pen mark $350
Small deformation in front plastic bumper size of a golf ball. $850
The key fobs have the markings worn off $200
Curb rash on passenger side wheels $900
Not serviced at a Nissan dealer $900
(he came in today to get copies of our services we did then they will only charge him $150 for not having services done at a Nissan dealer)
Dirty interior (couple stains on the drivers seat)$100
Termination fee $400 (not early just termination fee)
He came in under his mileage by 6000 miles so they credited him $100
He just had new tires put on and they gave him a $200 credit for that.
Buy out was $8900....LOL
I was like holy smurf..........I never heard of a lease being this critical.
This is part of the reason why leasing a car is so colossally stupid.
My dad leased a GX470 4 years ago, recently, he stated it was the dumbest thing he's ever done. He hit his miles allowed with a year left on the lease. He ended up purchasing it, and trading it in on a new F150.

Wow i guess the good thing about a lease is your always driving a new car if you keep leasing. Bad thing is in OP's post all the charges for normal wear and tear.
OMG, what an absolute raping. In-sane. $900 for not having it serviced by the dealer?? They're kidding, right...?
Makes me glad I'd already decided to buy out the residual on my C6 next year...

I leased a bunch of cars and returned them without any crap like this.
96 Buick Riviera
98 Grand Prix GTP
99 Chrysler 300M
2000 Lexus RX300
2002 Acura TL-S
2007 Audi A4
Some sent me a kit with a card size of a credit card that said "if you can cover your dent with this card, no problem".
Well, tires had to have 1/8" of tread left.
P.S. interesting though, on the way home today I saw a guy driving a truck with his business sticker ads on it - the business is helping people do lease returns. He fixes up whatever needs to be fixed up so that people would be able to return their leases. Maybe the lease companies are more strict today.
I leased a car once -- first and last time, btw...
The car wasn't perfect when I returned it, but the only thing I got charged extra for was because I added aftermarket fog lights to it and had to remove the plastic insert where factory fogs would normally go.
I think I was charged $200 It was a while ago. I'll never lease a car again though.

Out of all my leases (4 since 1996) I have never had to pay extra. I think they are being critical to get as much money out of him as possible. Most of that shit is wear and tear and sounds normal.
I must have had 10 rock chips on the hood of the GTO when I returned it and I didn't have shit done about it.
All I seen was a list my customer showed me. He came in to me wanting copies of our services we did. He is going to replace the wipers and clean up the interior and look for some used rims. I thought it was bs too. I cant prove anything other than what my customer showed me.

It's not like he was asking you to pay for it... there's no reason he should be lying. I believe it, but DAMN... that is rough.

That's complete BS. That needs to fall somewhere under the compass of the Magnusson-Moss Act ... or something similar. That would basically be a form of monopoly. Scare people (who lease cars) into only bringing their cars for service to dealerships. That being said, all those prices are ludicrous. $150 for wiper blades? Were the whole arm assemblies missing? Jesus. I'd try another dealership ... might just be this one trying to turn a profit on a vehicle they know will be sitting for a while.
Only ever leased one car....the GTO.....and it was a dream come true...Dropped it off and they gave me 200 bucks back..End of story....Best part.....it was the 200.00 that GM Put down from incentives....lololo

Nissan can do whatever they want with a lease - they own the car, not you.

Very true, could be the shady dealer trying to pull a fast one on him.
Usually you can call a lease end appraiser, which is independent from any dealership and is on a contract with the leasing company.
