My X41 base has a plug in for a headset and I was wondering if there was a piece of hardware that changed usb into a regular headset jack plug.
The reason I ask is because when I'm gaming and having an amusing conversation with one of my friends, sometimes I want my g/f to hear, but her X4's don't receive from my base. I understand this because they're different models, but I'm curious as to whether plugging a headset into my base will allow her to hear or not.
I would look for the hardware myself, but I honestly have no idea what you would call something like that. USB to headphone jack converter?

There are. However, they will show up in Windows as a totally seperate audio device. You would not be able to play audio through your regular audio device and this USB adapter at the time times. You can switch which to use easily enough, just set one as the default audio output device and that's it.
We went to the same college together at one time... However, if your jokes would be better suited by a no answer, then no I haven't.

I suppose I should clarify. The X41 headset is hooked up to my xbox console. The headphones I want to plug into the base are a set of 5.1 personal cinema manhattan with a usb plug. They're currently plugged into my computer, but I'm just curious if I could plug it into the base via a converter.
Ahhh so reverse.. hooking up a set of USB headphones to a standard 1/8" plug that's on the XBox.
I don't believe it will work since the USB headphones probally show up as it's own audio device and such to Windows.. this requires software/drivers, even if they are generic and built into the Operating System. A stand-alone adapter would not be able to provide this functionality.

So I'd need just a regular set of headphones with the proper jack for straight pnp use?
