Thanks edcmat-l1

I hit this fella up to find out if I could get better drivability out of my Gto.

Setup consist of
236/240 cam 110 lsa
Etp 215
Fast 102
Porter 90mm throttle body
Headers catless mids catback

Problem was under 2k rpm my driveability sucked!!

Constant bucking and surging.
Vehicle idled fine
Made great power
A/f was dialed in but would swing on the wideband

I tried everything from injection timing to running leaner to rich, +10* timing -10* timing and nothing worked!

Kept the car in open loop because fuel trims would never straighten out constantly adding fuel.

I sent this fella a log and my tune, he noticed I was lean based on o2 mv.

Went back to closed loop
Disabled dfco cfco always kept ltft off
Enabled my stft

Retuned ve table part throttle with 2 20 minute drives

I was about 10% lean

After making the flash with new table
All of my sporadic part throttle knock disappeared
Drivability was about as good as stock!!!!

Felt like I picked up about 20 ftlb of torque

Now my Gto is fun to drive again not a pain in the ass for around town driving.

He's not the best tuner in the country for nothing !!!!

I'm amazed at the people that buy into the idea that low speed bucking is normal with a cam. A good tune makes all the difference.

I agree

He did state that it would not drive like stock with a cam of my size and in honesty it does not drive like stock.

My car feels more stronger down low

Only way I can get her to buck now is by forcing her.

I also have a lightweight flywheel which does not help.

I have to relearn how to drive her right now because it behaves so much differently!!!

Did you see he used stft to tune part throttle?.....

Ed is the man, I have learned a bunch from him by just reading his posts.

Whoah! I simply didn't think it possible, what with all the lift/duration/overlap vs gearing in 6th.... In 6th I can cruise 1500 rpms all day long, 1250 rpms if I don't stab the gas... anything less than that and the car sounds/acts like I'm running a 7HP Evenrude outboard (TPHTHPHPTHPHPTHT) LOL. Other gears I can get lower than 1200 rpms so I never thought it to be a problem.

Not my my software or tune, but I should be able to get my hands on it.

edit *didn't meant to threatcrap on the OP... but I agree that a PROPER tune can do wonders

Post the spec of the cam
My issue was fuel related

Widebands don't seem to br too accurate for part throttle
Especially when they are lambda sensors
Spilit personality sensors lol

She still needs a little polishing

Very interesting. Really! I'll work (a little harder) on getting that tune file. My interest is piqued that perfection is possible.

Going off memory on the spec sheet I got from EdC@Flowtech --
244/248 .631/.631 112LSA... (I don't think I'm giving up any trade secrets here as these are posted on his website -- ramp rates are different than anything else anyhoo). Also, motor is now a 403ci + supporting mods.

So what did he do to the tune that finally made it not lean? I mean if you kept adding fuel and it wasnt sticking, then what was his trick to do what you couldn't do?

I wish I could get mine not to buck under 1700rpm's. Plus I noticed that my LTFT's are not reading on my predator. So they must be deleted. Damn it.
